Winterhawk (Heavy Prog Psych Metal from Chicago)

This is a band I first saw at the first ALEHORN of POWER festival in Chicago in 2006. I finally recently got a CD of theirs and can not stop listening to them.

Anyone familiar with them?

This is a must for fans of RUSH, amongst many others.....

Saw them at Alehorn and last year at Red Line Tap. While not something I would buy they are great to watch live. Super talented. Even on a few songs each member switches insturments and play a few songs.

Revival is a decent cd, but man, I love their live Cd-- got it the year before Alehorn I think it was and spun it a dozen times the 1st weekend I owned it-- just awesome stuff...

Yes, the live album is awesome and contains some songs that I don't think were ever released on studio albums.

FUCK that ruled. Kinda reminds me of Angel Witch but with more syncopated Rush-esque moments.

I do not care for the Wind from the Sun album at all, but can't stress how AWESOME "There and Back Again" is...going to spend today respinning their anthology...

My only exposure to these guys is through the band Slough Feg. Both times I saw them live, they played Winterhawk over the PA while they were setting up.

Yeah, around Chicago, these guys have played with bands like Slough Feg, Bible of the Devil, High Spirits, etc......

It's awesome that they have some exposure through the current trad metal scene, as while not metal ,they are definitely highly influential to many bands today.
