This automatically makes me uninterested. Manowar or any Manoclone gets my immediate seal of disappoint. That's just me though....ya know...trolling with opinions.

Seems like a decent fest so far aside from VS though.

Have you actually heard any VS albums after, say, the first one? Manowar clones they're not.

First of all both bands first release came out at the same time, secondly neither were anything like the other. That was just simply an asinine and ignorant statement.

Personally think they are better, though I like both.
This fest will be the best line-up of any U.S. metal festival in 2012. Hell it is REAL f@#kin metal. Maybe not the best fest overall, but line up certainly hands down. I'm stoked.

Pretty Maids, possibly H.O.A., the return of Powermad, and finally a U.S. festival of real traditional metal will make for a good year. And have the idea a Confessor show will be in there somewhere to put the cherry on top.

I like the band, but they sounded terrible at Progpower. A shame cause they were my only interest from that year if memory serves.
As for Confessor: yes I know they are but I'm sure there will be a show at home and there is nothing like seing the class reunion.

Also, I have pretty much decided that, assuming schedule works out, I'm gonna do this instead of MDF. Almost every band I want to see at MDF is playing at Rites of Darkness in a few weeks, which I will be attending....

I reserve my right to make asinine and ignorant statements when it is actually my opinion, everyone else seems to be allowed. If my opinion labels me as such I sport the label proudly as my opinions are my own and not a single fuck is given.


Virgin Steele TO ME is just like Manowar and therefore I do not like them.

Wizard....first US show.

Virgin Steele...waited a long time to see them.

Pharoh...I think 3rd or 4th show ever in 10 years.

Blacksmith...I think that the Heaven and Hell release is the best re-issue this year.

Skull Fist....I got the guys to get them for this show. I have to see them.

Damien Thorne....great classic Chicago metal.

Borrowed Time....great band and one to keep and eye on.

Ancient Creation...looking forward to seeing them as well.

Brocas Helm.....never thought I would see them live....ever.

Slauter Xstroyes...saw them last year and they were great...amazing vocalist

A Sound of Thunder....I have been giving them crap for a bit so I will be nice here.

that is 11 good reasons to go.....you will not see these many amazing traditional / classic acts in one place in the states asides from this show.

And if I plan accordingly, maybe I can have a better time at this one instead of getting all exhausted and having to leave early.

That would probably be a good idea as this is not a lineup to be missed.
