Like you Metaldude, I just got this, and I think it there best in yeeeeears. Very cool album. I gave up on Slayer a long time ago (though I still buy most all of there albums in hope...) I think it's great.
Agreed on all accounts, haha. Slayer was actually my favorite band from Show No Mercy through Hell Awaits....To be perfectly frank I was a little disappointed with Reign In Blood at the time. I felt/feel like Rick Rubin robbed them of all their bottom end, and I preferred Tom's voice with eq, as opposed to how Rubin presented it. They were going onto a major label, which I really thought impossible at the time, and though I dug Reign in Blood and still do, I just like their more classic metal sounds somewhat. Anyway, I saw them for the first time on the South of Heaven tour (actually, the only time I saw them), but have just purchased tickets to the American Carnage tour in honor of the quality of this disc. Great stuff. I bought the last two, but just could not get that into them. Despite being backwards from the reviews, I liked God Hates us All better of the two. But the new one has some of that old spark, and is definitely the best since the first three major label albums.
I never bought the two before and I'm thinking I may be able to enjoy them with a bit more of an open mind because of the new disc. If you dig God Hates Us All..it may be worth checking out. We seem to be on the same page.
