Worship music leaked

So is blindly following the herd.

I just realized that I've seen most of those bands in your signature live. Cool. I've seen Kreator and Destruction so many times that I wouldn't even go if someone gave me tickets. Seriously, they play around here so often that they should start sending free tickets with the spam in your mailbox.

I could never really get into German thrash that much...it's much too cold for me. It's fun for a while but then it just gets stale. I think I'm more of an American thrash type of guy.

That statement alone purely ends any debate and your credibility and opinions mean and equal zero. That is perfectly fine you are not a Thrash or Speed-Metal fan. There is nothing wrong you like this Metro-Sexual Metal Scene. It's just a phase of each Metal Generation.

Seriously what is there to hate about ATL? Classic hits such as Caught in a Mosh, I Am the Law and Indians, Fan favorites like ATL and NFL, underrated gems like A Skeleton in the closet, Imitation of Life and ADI/Horror of it all. Its all there. Every bands best albums are usually the classic era and this is the one Anthrax fans picked as their favorite.

Dont see why its so hard for some people to see that.

Well apparently the album doesn't have any hooks either....

i actually like ATL much more than MOP & PSBWB, also more than RIP and you can be sure that it's not for nostalgic reasons, i like it just because it's the greatest f****n Thrash Metal album ever created, speed, heaviness, melody, it's all there.

@Stormc(l)ock: why is it soo hard for you not to act like a dick, i called you crapper-fly before and you proof that the name is fitting you perfectly.

has too much listening to 'Toast To The Extras' & 'Mama Said' and your own pathetic attempt at 'Symphony Of Destruction' destroyed too many braincells inside your pumpkin?

...it's kinda funny that (real) fans are here fighting about which album should be the most hated one...:)
I like them all - even the new one, I'm sure I will pick it up and give it another spin when next one comes out...:) - I just don't like all the decision this band has made. I'm sure I've said this before, but when Joey was fired after POT tour...I was so against anyone who would try to take his place...then I gave SOWN a chance...and...I don't know how it is to believe in God or whatever - but it was an experience, very powerful one - I understood that OK that's why they needed the change. :)

I also understand that at the moment - when they are playing again to the Kids of America - they need to do acceptable, melodic, even radio friendly metal. They are NOT playing to those 100 die hards they were playing when they road tested Dan Nelson.

T:)

I'm just listening to "the devil you know" on youtube and sounds like SOE,nice song...And guys, Joey is amazing, It's impossible be sacked again.I can't say anything album the new album yet(I will buy it) but for sure will be better than the last 3 disapointed albums.
Joey is back! better late than never.

Among the Living the 3rd best thrash album ever Period!

1 Master of Puppets
2 Reign in Blood
3 Among The Living
4 Beneath The Remains
5 The Legacy

lol, it's true. It took me over 6 months to get into Sound Of White Noise when it came out. Id like to say Worship Music is by far the worst Anthrax out of all that they released. The real test will be what the next album will sound like with Joey back.

There is absolutely NO SIMILARITY between "The Devil You Know" than ANYTHING on State of Euphoria. NOTHING.

Like thrashard said "The Devil You Know" is a melodic hard rock song almost made specifically for radio. There is very little to no thrash element to that song.

I often wonder how on earth people can listen to "The Devil You Know" and think "man that sounds like old school Anthrax thrash!" Makes no sense. It's not even remotely close to anything on that album.

What, that I prefer Bay Area thrash to German thrash? You obviously have never been to more than one Kreator show or you'd know that they're all the same. I didn't say I didn't like Kreator, just that I find German thrash to be a little too cold. Sodom is nice, though.

I've been listening to metal since I was 5 years old and listening to speed metal since Anthrax released SoE and Metallica released AJFA. I was 11 at the time. I've been to more death, black, and thrash shows than you have albums. I grew up in a backwater, hick fucking college town in Louisiana and I was the ONLY one in my high school blasting Deth, Thrax, Slayer, Testament, Metallica, and Pantera while everyone else was jerking off to fucking Nirvana and Pearl Jam. You don't know dick about me and you obviously don't understand reading comprehension, so go die in a fire.

I wouldn't be surprised if I've been listening to Anthrax longer than you've been alive. I certainly hope so for your sake, because if you're an actual adult this stupid, I beg you never to procreate.

I don't get it, you're saying that people only like AtL for the nostalgia, and that it's actually not good and not considered a thrash classic. I'm pretty sure most people consider it to be a landmark album in thrash. It has classic songs, great hooks (I still can't figure out why you think the album has no hooks), classic solos, and memorable album art.

Any other album by Anthrax or any other band has no bearing on how good/bad AtL is, that's a terrible argument for justifying why you don't like it.

With this said, PoT is better.

No no, not at all. What I'm saying is simply that if we were to put the fact that an opinion can never be used as empirical evidence aside, I'd like to know what draws so many people to AtL.

I'm saying that if I were to extrapolate what I perceive as quality in the songs on AtL and compare it with something like PoT, it doesn't hold up that it's such a better album (as well as one could be objective about it...it's still just opinion) according to the fans UNLESS they were looking at it through the lens of nostalgia.

I'm saying I would UNDERSTAND how they felt it was a better album than all the rest if it was based on nostalgia because that would make sense to me. What DOESN'T make sense is how (in my mind, at least) albums like PoT is so OBVIOUSLY superior in nearly every way to AtL, yet everyone still clamors for AtL. I want to know WHY this is, because several of you have even conceded that PoT, if not a better album, is at least just as good as it.

Comparing the two albums, AtL pales in comparison to me.

However, nostalgia is a powerful thing; when you're taken back in time to a good or even bad time by something you love, it's very powerful on the human psyche. I would understand if it were someone's first album, the first time they were introduced to thrash metal, etc. What doesn't make sense is that I simply don't see just how great this album is when they've done albums much superior to it, at least in my mind.

Look, this isn't meant piss anyone off, I'm just looking for a straightforward answer with actual reasons to back it up.

You got it! THAT'S what I love about it! It's not heavy, it's not fast, it's really simple, but it KICKS ASS! (wow, I'm a poet and didn't know it)

Is it just me or does Joey sound a little like Jorn in some places on the album? Almost a power metal feel, but much less cheese. I love Bush, but I'm really glad they got Joey to do this album. I hope they don't fuck it up by kicking him out again.

This album, while not as heavy as the last two of the other Three Horsemen's albums, is definitely better...and it's not even thrash. Of course Metallica's last two albums were fucking awful.

EDIT: I just realized who he sorta reminds me of, and it's not Jorn; it's Dio.

@Dead Winter Dead: it's already getting old that you can't understand how someone can like ATL more than POT, i was introduced to Thrax through 'Bring Tha Noize' and 'White Noise' was the first album i heard by them, i think it was about at the same time when i heard ATL and POT for the first time, POT contains Joey's best vocals ever and has some great tunes in 'Time', 'Got The Time', 'One Man Stands' & 'Discharge' but imo ATL is the stronger record overall and contains more of the typical oldschool Anthrax-sound while they tried new things on POT and experimented with slower rhythms, ATL is full speed from 1st to last song which i like and imo there are no fillers on the album. put it in your head and try to understand it: there are really people who like ATL more than POT and no, they don't prefer it for nostalgic reasons, POT is only 3 years newer than AMONG so the nostalgia-explanation between a 24 and a 21 years old record is a bit stupid, opinions are like assholes, some people prefer POT, some AMONG and there will always be some people (including Stormc(l)ock) who think that 'Toast To The Extras' is the best Anthrax-song ever written, it's only a matter of taste.
