Worship music leaked

I have been listening to this a lot lately. I am kind of 50/50 on it. I think some people may be over reacting with the 'this is the best Anthrax album of all time' stuff. I think some of it is pretty good while some of it is semi boring and monotonous. There is no way this album can come close to the calibur of POT or ATL but is it better than any of the John Bush era album? Maybe... not sure if its better than SOWN... time will tell for me

PERSISTENCE OF TIME have a great songs "keep in the family", "time", "got the time" "in my world" "blood" but I feel worship music a little better tham POT and more solid

Screw it! I'm just gonna wait and listen to it when it is released.

Same feeling. My wife just surprised me this morning telling me that she d'loaded the album from somewhere and left the whole thing for me on her computer before leaving to work. But... I think I'm gonna wait and buy the proper package in a store...
Plus, I suspect that she was just trying to save 15 bucks for the family budget. Can you believe it? Saving on the new Anthrax album! Infamita!!!...

That went out the window for me! I couldn't help it and listened to it. :Spin:
I pre-ordered it already so I don't feel bad.

I spent over a hundred bucks on Anthrax this week between ordering the album, the shirt and beer stein, as well as other shirts. No concert tix, because there is no Cleveland show.

Not to mention I'm broke because I just bought my first house, so I don't feel bad downloading a week early.

it looks like i'm the only one here that likes 'The Constant', imo it's one of the better tunes on the album, i like the tempo-changes, it has groove and speed, been listening to the album every day this week and i'm getting more and more into it, still not a big fan of TDYK and 'Vampyres', i'm not so in love yet with 'In The End' like others on the board, the rhythm of the song is pretty similar to 'Judas Priest', at this point i like 'Priest' more than 'End', the record is pretty solid, imo def. better than 'Stomp', 'Vol.8' & WCFYA but not as good as SOWN & previous so it's the best record that Anthrax has put out in 16 years, the good thing about the album is that there are no songs that i find unlistenable, it's all decent at least while i found many songs on the previous 3 recs. to be unlistenable. WM is a big step forward in songwriting for the band.

I like every song!

I’ve been jamming to this record pretty much every chance I could since I got hold of it on Monday. I was blown away at the first listen, and now after multiple spins my love of this record has only grown. As a matter of fact it has grown so much I have to make a change to what I said on my first review, when I said that this record may be the best Anthrax record yet. I would have to say that Worship Music IS the best record Anthrax has ever made.

I’ve heard things like, “this sounds like AIC,” or “this sounds like Bushthrax,” “or this sounds poppy,” or “Joey is the weak link,” and a bunch of other crap. First and for most this album SOUNDS LIKE ANTHRAX! Secondly, and this is coming from someone who is a long time fan, but admittedly is a bigger fan of the Bush era --- Joey is singing his fucking balls off on this record, as a matter of fact I would have to say that I don’t think it would have been a better disc with John singing.

Joey’s range on this disc, and I don’t mean from just song-to-song, but from verse-to-verse, and in some cases from one line to the next is amazing. From the sweeping power metal highs --- that at some times makes me think of Dio himself, to the growling lows.

It’s like he sang on this whole album, filled with piss ’n vinegar. This album just kicks so much fucking ass.

My thoughts exactly :rock::rock::kickass::kickass:

Which is why I never understood why Joey was ever replaced but that's moot now. Hopefully, the band wont do anything bizarre like replace their front man with a fallout boy imitation singer because they want a "different sound"

"The Constant", "The Giant" and "I'm Alive" are my favorites right now.

Hmmm...WM starts well....Worship/Hell On Earth package is perhaps the strongest song Joey has ever done. BUT HE STILL DOES NOT HAVE BALLS TO DO BUSH ERA MATERIAL.
I was familiar with next two tracks and they are OK...kinda easy listening pop metal, but OK.
I'm Alive is the first - somehow cheesy - filler...and actually all the songs till Revolution Screams are kinda well executed filling of CD space...
Overall WM grooves nicely, it has some great riffing and drumming, some good yet some silly soloing and then Belladonna that's everywhere. He is singing very well. His vocals are also very well recorded...and I must say that I like the whole production of this album. It is not as much a thrash metal album as I expected it to be, but despite slower - should I say more traditional metal songs - it sounds like Belladonna era Anthrax....Perhaps this record would have been big if I were 16...now it did nothing to me.

Sorry...

Joey DOESN'T NEED to do Bush era material. They are two different people each having their own style.

...but for some weird reason he and the other people keep pretending that he could have sang those songs - if allowed back then...nowadays he does not dare to touch them...:)

I actually don't want Joey singing those songs and I didn't like when Bush sang pre SOWN stuff.
I think what they mean is that if Bush was never even in Anthrax that Joey could have continued on and made these albums still sound good with his style to it.

If I remember correctly - and I always do - John Bush was asked to join 'cos Scott and Charlie were tired of Joey not contributing anything to POT - he just sang. They wanted someone who could write lyrics etc...plus of course they needed to replace bird with lion...

...or they knew that the nineties were coming and people wouldn't listen to bands with tight leather trousers and mullets. Thank God.

All that shit doesn't matter to me. I liked the Bush era. It was ok, but I'm glad Joey's back... for who knows how long. :Spin:
