Dodheimsgard's Supervillain Outcast was one of my greatest anticipations for this year, until I heard a couple songs on their myspace, which were enough for me to declare this album a disappointment.
Blut Aus Nord - Odinist - same drum beat throughout almost every song, set to samey riffs which sound like they came from the "rejected riffs" pile from the TWWTG sessions.
Deathspell Omega.
Come on now... it's just plain terrible.

Well that could be it, "traditional" isn't a word that came to mind with this album. It was a little more on the "avant-garde" side, kind of reminded me of Eternity's Bringer Of The Fall album from last year what with all the backward-sounding riffing....it lacked the type of flow that I'm accustomed to when listening to traditional black metal.
All that music that you buy & you didn't run into any duds on accident?? This, I personally find very hard to believe as I always run into stuff I don't like even from my cherished bands, & you listen to much more music than I do.
Loved every second of it.Deathspell Omega.

Have to agree. Except for the last song (don't remember name)but it's pretty badass.Fair enough. It bores me to tears.
I thought that new Abigor album was kind of crappy.
Dethklok's The Dethalbum, and I'm truly surprised that no one else has mentioned it yet.
