Fuck, I wouldn't say the new Alcest was technically "terrible" but it would be on my worst list of '07. It's so forgettablle I couldn't remember to put it on my other list. I know it's supposed to create a "mood" but it just doesn't work for me. I do enjoy the "Le Secret" EP, however.

Naglfar - Harvest

One of my favorite BM bands, but this sounded too similar to Pariah. A little more consistent than I was hoping for... and nothing that memorable.

Harvest is a pleasure to listen to but nothing beyond that. The production is different from previous albums, so the album has somewhat of its own identity. I wouldn't have bought it if the tracks I heard ahead of it had the same production.

It's a decent album, in my opinion. A little too much wankery for my tastes, but the vocals are quite good (for a non-extreme band).

To be honest, it probably appeals alot more to the female fanbase. Apperently those guys are shit hot.

Arch Enemy's Wrath of the Tyrant disappointed me. It's not a bad album par say, but I'd still just keep listening to Wages of Sin thanks very much.

Funny. I don't see the wankery on the Symphony X album. What do you mean by wankery? Long scale running guitar solos? I like their other stuff better when they had more of that kind of stuff & more odd structures.

Down - III ... Was a fairly massive failure in my eyes. I really enjoyed their debut, and to a lesser extent their second album too, but this was just utter tosh. Boring, meandering shite.
