Wort releases of 2004

Iced Earth - The Glorius Burden. The first Iced Earth album I didn't like.
The Haunted - rEVOLVEr. The first Haunted album I thought outright sucked.
Cradle of Filth - Nymphetamine. Dire. Absolutely, fucking, dire.
Lamb of God - Ashes of the Wake. I almost couldn't believe my ears when I listened to this. Boring, uninspired; a disgrace to the albums before it.

Other obvious ones I haven't listened-to, for equally obvious reasons.

Isis the worst of the year? wow man, you need to get your ears checked. Its opinion and all, but cmon, have you heard some of the shit that is put out?

The new Samael is absolutely the biggest letdown I have ever heard from such a well established band. But hell, you can list numerous shitty black metal and death metal releases, that never should have been released.

Megadave - System

Sure

Rhapsody - Symphony of Enchanted Ovaries part VIIIIIRVSDFGXXZFDST

OK

Dragonforce - Sonic Firestorm

HURR HURR WHAT? Dragonforce flower metal? I dunno, man. There's some pretty sweet riffage on Sonic Firestorm. 00:50 on "Soldiers of the Wasteland," for example. And derogatory labels aside, I fucking LOVE Sonic Firestorm. I mean there's technical ability out the wazoo, WAY more than their peers, and the songwriting isn't... TOO... repetitive. It's mindless, yeah, but it's fun as hell.

I don't know. I like that groove on "99" by the Haunted. Maybe that's the avergae song everyone's talking about.

I thought the Dragonforce album was pretty fun. Their albums usually are.

Heh, you're not in the minority. I can't stand them though, basically COB with a flowermetal vocalist.

STFU, you know you would listen to them. You just wanna be Tuff. You know you appreciate the ferocious riffage (albeit not incredibly varied) and would listen to it on a car ride if someone put it on.

Dragonforce's 2nd album was a disappointment in the repetitive department, but not altogether terrible.

Worst Release of 2004? BE. Pain of Salvation's amazingly brilliant concept about the meaning of life....... that isn't as a whole, musical. it's disjointed, it jumps genre's like a bipolar, and it lacks the depth that i know they are capable of. some of the 'songs' do sound great, but as an Album..... good god. its only playable in my headphones, i'd never put it on the stereo. ever.

Hells yes. Sonic Firestorm is responsible for many strange looks at stoplights as I bust out air guitar/drums. Hmmm... what if I played the double-bass parts on the gas and brake pedals?
