There that was Fucking Hard!

UMOS Newbie of the Year: I like The Marine & Clammy. I vote for both!
Poster of the year, The person with the MOST consistent posts: That would be Hawk.:worship:
Most misunderstood member of the year: Wickedchild, to this day I haven't figured you out. I think you're a great addition to the crew & I look forward to your take on things....
Biggest flirt of the year: Flirt? That would be my boy JD!
UMOS pin up guy & gal of the year: Insert UMOS female member name here_____.
Most Opinionated Poster of the year: Wyvern, he’ll let you know what he thinks.
Best UMOS Brawl(Thanks Wyvern:erk: ): Yeah, that would be the Sixxswine vs. Hawk, If I recall it was the Judas Priest & Z thread. why?! Well, because it gave me an opportunity to humble myself. If you were around, I ran my mouth off, jokingly, I made some very off color comments & it offended people. My damn ego, needed a reality check & I thank Hawk for it. I'd like to think that "it" helped us all become a bit more respectful of one another.
*A close second was Jonny D vs. "Fake" Jonny D.:yuk: Remember that guy?
Best Avatar(Thanks Wyvern): Hawk's it fits & no need to change it!:worship:
Missing In Action member: Fangface, where are you brother?!:erk:
Nicest Poster of the year: Nice? Toss up Abryl & Pabla.:Spin:
Most Productive Poster of the year: Byrant “The Silent Shredder,” quality not quantity...:worship:
Forum clown: Hands down JD!o_O
Most Knowledgeable Poster of the year: Hawk, the bird of prey of the forum.:worship:
Best Magazine: Brave Words & Bloody Knuckles. Two packs of smokes or BW&BK?! Well, it’s the magazine of course! In a day & age where magazines are a thing of the past, they are doing something that's very unique & consistent.
Best Website: I have to give the crew at www.metalsludge.tv a plug, they are shifting their content for the site from strictly "glam" to other genres, the heavy shit. If the KD 20 questions isn't proof of this I don't know what is? They have given me the chance to contribute to their site, with reviews(Clifford J. Newsted) & contributing questions for their 20 Q's. I "like" what they have done recently...
Honorable mentions:
www.metal-archives.com/
www.heavyharmonies.com/
www.melodicrock.com/
www.brutalmetal.com/
Best Thread of 2004 @ UMOS: "The Package..."
My top five records of the year:
1.)Iced Earth Glorious Burden(Remember this has a "History" theme...)
2.)Exodus Tempo of the Damned(Zetro's back & then he's gone again...)
3.)Megadeth The System has Failed(One hell of a solo record...)
4.)Shadows Fall The War Within(The band most hate...)
5.)Edguy Hellfire Club(Thanks to JD, I heard about this band & record...)
Honorable mentions: Titanium Black Bleed for You, King Diamond Deadly Lullabyes,Six Feet Under Graveyard Classics II...
Best DVD of 2004: Armored Saint-Lessons not Well Learned.
Best new not “nu” talent of 2004: I like Shadows Fall, but they have been around for a number of years, Titanium Black. www.titaniumblack.com/
Favorite Singer of 2004: Only because he has pipes & I haven’t heard him before, Jorn Lande. Kinda like a Coverdale meets Hughes...I really am diggin’ this guy’s singin’.
Favorite Guitarist of 2004: George Lynch for his work on Furious George & Steve Vai for the track “I’m the Hell Outta here,” from the G3 Tour & the G3 Dvd.
Favorite Bass Player of 2004: Nikki Sixx, even though he released the dreadful Brides record. If you listen to his playing, it has Pete Way written all over it.
Favorite Drummer of 2004: The session drummer on the new Megadeth record, that guy smokes. I was floored, when I learned he had done mainly pop & jazz records!!!! And Richard Christy, under ultilized by Jon Schaffer, great record with I.E. & The Leash Law record, displayed some great playing by him as well... Wish ‘em well on the Stern show...
Favorite Keyboardist of 2004: Pass...ZZZZZZZ
Best show you saw in 2004 and why? Iced Earth, Tim sounded fantastic, he shook the foundations of the club. It was great to see them playing so tight. It’s better now, than then, since Richard left for the Stern show & James, has since left to join Mustaine. Plus I got to meet the band & they signed my GB disc @ 2:15 AM in the rain in Seattle.... Great people, great musicians, fabulous show...Runner up was Schenker.
Hall of shame for 2004(band that has hit the wall): Metallica
Least favorite record of 2004: Starwood-If it ain’t Broken Break it! That was a pretty shitty record...
Least favorite band: Hands down, Slipknot. I just don’t care for the second rate KISS gimmick.
Most anticipated for 2005: Tie, Judas Priest(new cd) :worship: & Iced Earth (dvd).

I, too, will avoid the stuff about forum posters cause I've only been here for about two weeks.

Favorite website: www.metal-archives.com, and not just cause I work for them. :D

My top five records of the year:

1.) Exodus - Tempo of the Damned

2.) Metal Church - Weight of the World

3.) Wuthering Heights - Far From the Madding Crowd

4.) Vader - The Beast

5.) Dismember - Where Ironcrosses Grow

(Subject to change once I get the new Manticora & Motörhead albums, as well as the Anthrax re-recordings...I wasn't looking forward to those, but after seeing them pull that shit off live I can't wait. John Bush can SCREAM!)

Best DVD of 2004: Blind Guardian - Imaginations Through the Looking Glass

Best new not "nu" talent of 2004: I'll say Brazillian thrashers Andralls. Great band.

Favorite Singer of 2004: Based on both the new album and his live performance, Ronnie Munroe of Metal Church.

Favorite Guitarist of 2004: Gary Holt of Exodus. Rifftastic.

Favorite Bass Player of 2004: Fuck, I dunno.

Favorite Drummer of 2004: Tom Hunting of Exodus.

Favorite Keyboardist of 2004: No comment.

Best show you saw in 2004 and why? Exodus & Heathen in August. Zetro's last American show, and it was a hell of a sendoff (though nobody knew it at the time.) Exodus busted out all kinds of old rarities during a two-hour set, like Metal Command, Till Death Do Us Unite, Verbal Razors, Only Death Decides, and LIKE FATHER LIKE FUCKING SON! And of course, Heathen kicked ass, as always.

Metal Church/Heathen/Imagika in June was also excellent.

Hall of shame for 2004(band that has hit the wall): Pantera, and not a moment too soon. Thank God THAT'S over.

Least favorite record of 2004: Killswitch Engage - The End of Heartache. The next person who calls this thrash is going to get a rusty metal spork jammed up their nose.

Least favorite band: Killswitch Engage. Emo assholes pretending to be metalheads.

Most anticipated for 2005: JUDAS FUCKING PRIEST. Also new albums from Kreator, Sadus, Sodom, Imagika, and possibly Virgin Steele.

Local bands.. (Gotta hate living in a country town..)

Hall of shame for 2004(band that has hit the wall):

Hmmm.. Dunno..

Least favorite record of 2004:

Haven't heard enough to judge.

Least favorite band:

Primus.

Most anticipated for 2005:

Sorry I couldn't make up my mind for a lot of them..
And thank you so much Hawk and Wyvern for the Newbie of the year award!!! :D

I pretty much changed my name because this was the stage name I was using in my tribute band and I think it suits me more than The Trooper. When you think me, you think glam/sleaze/hair rather than Iron Maiden I would say so I think this was more suitable. Plus I'd rather call myself my own stage name than just after a song :)

UMOS Newbie of the Year: Dunno who is new?

Poster of the year, The person with the MOST consistent posts: Bryant probably!

most misunderstood member of the year: Hmmm. Dunno! Swine maybe!

Biggest flirt of the year: JohnnyD!

UMOS pin up guy & gal of the year: Girl - Sinner Rider, what a foxx! Guy - Connie Fixx for the tiger pants! Haha!

Most Opinionated Poster of the year: Maybe myself (when anyone mentions KISS anyway)! Or Swine...

Best UMOS Brawl(Thanks Wyvern): No idea..

Best Avitar(Thanks Wyvern): Mine. It's the guy from Wet Cherri in Decline Of Western Civilization, that's simply untoppable hahaha! He is THE metal god...!

Best new not "nu" talent of 2004: The Deadthings outta Melbourne, haven't heard any other debut releases from 2004.

Favorite Singer of 2004: Paul Stanley. Saw KISS 3 times this year and he was as good as ever both as a vocalist & performer. Jeff Scott Soto is a close second, he was unreal and even better than Paul, but Stanley is my hero...

Favorite Guitarist of 2004: Tracii Guns blew me away on the Brides tour he was amazing! Bruce Kulick a close second, his solo tour was awesome, especially with SO many songs from Crazy Nights & Asylum.

Favorite Bass Player of 2004: Nikki Sixx.

Favorite Drummer of 2004: Eric Singer was a monster on the KISS tour.

Favorite Keyboardist of 2004: I don't know.

Best show you saw in 2004 and why? KISS - second night in Melbourne on the Aussie tour. A few metres from the stage, closest I've been, KILLER show, amazing setlist (Creatures, War Machine, Tears, Unholy, God Gave Rock & Roll, Makin Love, etc), followed closely by the other 2 Melbourne shows I saw. The first night had a great vibe and they opened with Creatures and was the most exciting night, and the third night they played over 25 vintage songs in a small theatre setting (2000 people) for the fans, MAGICAL!!!!!!!! Brides Of Destruction, Jeff Scott Soto, Edguy and Bruce Kulick have all been great too... every band has rocked hard this year live!

Hall of shame for 2004(band that has hit the wall): I dunno.

Least favorite record of 2004: Well there are 100s of albums I don't like but albums that have disappointed me have been Velvet Revolver & Brides Of Destruction, though BOD were UNREAL live.

Least favorite band: There are a million bands I don't like.

Most anticipated for 2005: The Motley reunion tour...
