Vast Oceans... was a giant leap into the mire compared to Of Empires Forlorn. There were brief moments of that album that were absolutely cringeworthy. I'm reticent to play it once again to remind myself of the exact parts. Solid as a whole, but definitely sullied by certain passages of emocity.

Vast Oceans is godly. One of my most played discs around that time. New one is certainly a step down but worthy of a few listens. It's grown on me a little but they need to ditch some of the emotion and go back to what they were doing on Vast Oceans.
