So, are you writing in someone or just not voting?

Writing in is probably the one situation where it is a wasted vote. The only candidate I would have voted for would have been Ron Paul, and he isn't on the ticket.

Edit: As I said before, whether McCain or Obama get in office, America is going to get exactly what it deserves for picking either one (shitty leadership).

Socialism or Fascism, and they call it "Choice"

Technically, the Presidential election is ultimately decided by the Electoral College. The general election has as much use as a poll, imo. Of course then there is 2000 election decided by a Supreme Court decision...

As I said, no shit. But that doesn't mean that the election outcome doesn't correspond closely to the votes, which it always has. Like it or not, we're not a direct democracy. The Founders wanted there to be a balance between a republic and a democracy. Besides, as far as I know only the President is elected indirectly. And the President isn't supposed to be the all-powerful force people play him up to be anyway.

I also want to point out the mention of the word "my pals". The stupidity of some people amazes me. I thought it was common knowledge that Barack Obama is as much white as he is black. His mother was white.

I also want to point out the use of the word "my pals" by DOdes Grave or whatever, maybe you can explain wtf you are trying to say in your statement and why you are using this word.

Um, I'm pretty sure that "my pals" has been used throughout history to refer to mulattoes and pure blacks alike.

It's a little too late for an anti-Federalist revival.

It's doogens

I don't personally think it matters for a plethora of reasons, but if I were voting I would write in Ron Paul... or Stephen Colbert.

I think we should go back to the days when the 2nd place winner in the election became the vice president.

No, actually, put both of your hands up your ass, that way you can't type.

 Fucken gold, this one. You've had some classics lately Nec.

As for this thread - respectfully as its your election, I've decided to not click anything :)

Interesting to see some of the people who have decided to vote Democrat (Krig), and even more interesting to see it seems to be a landslide. I was actually expecting more Republican voters on this board, but thankfully it seems I'm wrong.

I hope you guys get who will lead you best, best of luck for Tues.

TBH, I really find it a rediculous double standard that it's acceptable to use "derogatory" race labels if it's referring to your own race. It's either unacceptable and derogatory or it's not.

Edit: Krig must not be planning to buy bullets anymore if he's voting for Obama. Have you seen his tax plan on ammuntion etc? Sounds to me like someone's afraid of being shot.

You're kidding yourself if you actually think this is an important issue and there is something you need to and CAN do about it.

Every time someone gets banned, Deron says "Don't feed the trolls." Everyone agrees; then when the next troll comes along you all get riled up again and start bitching. Let's follow our own advice, shall we?

I have been pointed to this information:

The federal excise tax on firearms and ammunition is a rare creature: a federal tax that is fully supported by those who pay it. Long guns and long gun ammunition are taxed at 11 percent; handguns and handgun ammunition are taxed at 10 percent. The tax is a key source of funding for wildlife conservation projects and shooting range construction across the nation.

But in 1999 then-state senator Obama proposed increasing these taxes by 500 percent. It’s safe to say that Obama wasn’t hoping to build more shooting ranges.

Right now, a rifle that a manufacturer sells for $500 carries a tax of $55. Under Obama’s proposal, that amount would rocket to $330. This would turn a tax willingly paid by sportsmen into a tool to punish gun buyers and would have its biggest impact on those who can least afford to pay such an exorbitant tax--at least, until the loss of sales drove gun stores and manufacturers out of business.
