Just saw the ladies have a show scheduled for the 21st in Santee. That is about 15-20 miles from my house. :kickass: :headbang:

Hmmmmmm this y'alls first visit out there ladies? Santee is the "country" part of San Diego county. A morning radio show refers to it as Sansteeth.

Oh I'll be there for sure. Is that an early night Linda since it is a Thursday? :err:

Jim

Hey Jim! Kewl! Do you want us to send you some flyers since you probably know all the hot spots to promote the show? We were a little suprised they wanted us on a Thursday, but they insisted. Their weekends are reserved for disco/dance stuff and are booked up for a full year already. It is indeed our first gig in that area so we could use all the promo help we can get! (is this a heavy enough hint or what??? LOL!) :headbang:

Sooooo Linda is it an early night????? I have to be at work at 8:00 am the next day. :zombie: :zombie: :zombie: :zombie:

I'll PM you my address later on.

Jim

Well that countryfied Fear of the Dark y'all do at sound check may come in handy.

Little pink papers are being spread. :kickass: Gonna go out east tomorrow to Santee itself. Hit the GC and several other music shops out that way today.

Would it be inappropriate to sneak some into the record store and put some by the AMOLAD CD's?

That is where IM fans will be looking.

Jim

Brilliant Idea! That's what I used to do with the band I used to manage back in the 80's.When we opened for a signed national act,I'd stick Flyers in the album section of the band we were opening for.Totally Put Maidens flyers in the Maiden CD section dude!Anything that helps bring in the target audience! DO It!!:headbang: :headbang:

I was just curious if anyone ever got bent about that being done. Sounds like it wasn't an issue.

I'll hit the record stores out that way time permitting. Thanks Danny.

Don't say nothing to the people that work in the record stores you hit.Just act like your browsing & put a few hand bills there. Some record stores have bulletin boards or places to leave hand bills,do that also & ask if you can tape up a flyer in the window.
Tattoo shops are good places to hang flyers in windows & leave hand bills also.So network all you can.But most importantly go to any metal gigs coming up before the date & make sure EVERYONE gets a handbill!

Stuffed the Iron Maiden section at 3 Best Buys, a Borders, Wal Mart, and Sam Goody out that way. Also hit metal head central Blue Meanie records. The guy behind the counter played in a band called Narsill that played with Liz's prior band.

Also a used record shop Music Trader that the girl behind the counter was stoked that Maidens were coming. Apparently she is in some old school burlesqe group and was gonna link the Maidens to their site and promote the show.

Gonna keep the last of the flyers for refills and other sites.

BTW Yee Haw indeed. I drove by the venue and it is at the far eastern side of Santee right against the state highway 67. Very close to Parkway Plaza for you San Diegans.

It is in a little strip mall and to the right is a bail bonds place and 2 doors down to the left is a Lutheren church. Let's see get drunk, get bailed out of jail, and get salvation all in the same mall.

Depending if y'all get down early enough you may want to swing over and visit Blue Meanie. It is a metal head paradise and many signed photo's on the wall from groups.

Lot's of import stuff and the obscure as well. Y'all go in do a little shopping and schmoozing at the same time. I nearly grabbed the Reincarnation CD single but didn't have time.

Probably 4 miles from the venue. It had been a long time since I was there when it was a vinyl gold mine. Times have changed.

Thanks for street teaming for us, Jim! It really makes a difference when our peeps spread the word!

Well it is self interest in a way. The more people attend your shows down here the more often y'all will come down. :headbang: :kickass: Saves me a long drive.

We prefer Santucky ;)

Heh...it's not like people think...it was maybe 20 years ago...but I haven't seen a horse being ridden through town in a long time, now. LOL!
