It's not that it's bad... it's just nothing new. I felt I heard that kind of stuff a thousand times. They really need to reinvent themselves. The songs are okay, but they all kinda sound the same.

yeah, I don't expect this thread to get much attention, but I felt like saying it.

Thx m00se for posting

It's assembly-line black metal for weddings. Seriously, this is just by the numbers, completely and utterly devoid of any emotion whatsoever.

Music like this...I dunno. Really, it's like someone's plugged in an algorithm into a computer via old punch card and a machine spat this crap out on ticker tape.

I'm guessing this band will really start to explode in the US after this album. I haven't heard it and probably never will, but black metal by the numbers sounds like a hit over here.

you can listen to it on steaming for a week. That's how I made my mind. There's probably a link on DB's website.

I'd suggest PEM over anything else first. Well, maybe stormblast and for all tid if you only like pure BM.

Well if we're being picky, I wouldn't really call Stormblast or For All Tid "pure BM". Great albums though.

I will check out this newest one later I imagine.

Stormblast is great. I haven't heard For All Tid.

Thing is, I even liked the first Dimmu album where we first heard Vortex unleash those clean vocals. There's no doubt that he adds a great deal to any song.

FACT: "The Chaos Path" wouldn't be nearly as good without Simen.
