I perfectly remember 1987. I was already a Saxon fan by then, I started because of a fiend that make me hear "Crusader", recorded on a tape. My first album was a used vinyl of ""Denim and Leather", then little by little I managed to get the albums, or most of them. When "Destiny" came out, I didn't like it a lot of things about it, first the usual logo wasn't there (only the sculpture of the S), and neither was Nigel Glocker, Paul johnson just entered the band in the previous album, and I felt that another change so soon, will affect the band. Then came the "synthetized sound" that JP started with "Turbo", and also Iron Maiden used it in "Somewhere in Time". Nevertheless, "Destiny" was a cute album, only one song that I dislike, and my favorite being "Red Alert". After that album I though the band dies, until one day I found the "Solid Ball of Rock" CD, and years later "Dogs of War", by then Internet had took over, and info was more available, and so the albums reissued in CD, with great patience I managed to get one by one all, except "Destiny", today I'm a happy person, the reissue (with the bonus tracks) arrived, my Saxon CD collection is completed. Now I'm just waiting for the new one that will come soon I hope. Long live the NWOBHM, long live Saxon!
