You know, as much as I like Vanden Plas, I kind of agree with you (IF this is really what happened). I understand that every now and then it's normal to let things "slip" out of your mouth, but that was a little silly.

I have a feeling that they weren't instructed properly or they were under the impression that it would be ok. Someone left them out to dry, imo, because no one would do such a silly thing as knowingly admit they were sneaking in.
Don't know the whole situation of what was said, but i do know that they were detained for almost 16 hours and questioned individually. Their flight was from Amsterdam to Detriot, then to Atlanta, and they were detained in Detriot. Primal Fear had the same problem as they went thru Detriot also that year but they were not sent packing, just questioned for a few hours. One thing about Detriot Airport, at that time it was being used as a training spot for future INS and Customs and TSA/FAA agents(not screeners they are trained at the individual airports they will work). I know this because a good friend of mine is the Master FAA security Trainer.

You mean the money (improperly labeled as "bailout" money, but no surprise that the media portrayed it that way) that the banks are repaying as fast as they can to avoid having an Obama Administration overseer...as opposed to, say, "lining their pockets" with it?
A better question should be asked about the $787 billion that Obama -- upon the advice of his Congressional leaders, who themselves got their spending priorities from the Apollo Alliance* -- has spent on....basically nothing?
Think what could have happened if that colossal amount of money had been allocated instead to immediate tax relief, as a moratorium on income, FICA and Medicare tax withholding, letting people take home all of their Federal withholding in their paychecks. (First proposed by Louis Gohmert, TX-1st District)
It's enough to make me cry.

Actually, no. And that would have been a great idea, but only if we slashed wasteful government programs as a result, and lowered taxes for future years.
