you ever think finding new music is a 24 hour a day job?

Yeah, with some styles like death metal, at this point I have a fairly detailed idea of what I do and do not want, and I generally know where to look for those things that I want. The problem is that it takes a lot of the excitement out of discovering new music when you start to get the process down to a science like that. There's always gonna be something great out there that I won't find by exploring familiar territory. But yeah, that's the kind of stuff I'm just gonna stumble onto rather than searching high and low for it. That's probably one of the reasons that I'm more indiscriminate these days when deciding what to track down.
