My friends (online as the hardest music my offline friends listen to is disturbed) are saying I'm wierd with my tastes and I guess I am.
Lately they have reccomended Satryicon, At the Gates and immortal but I so far havn't really liked anything I've heard of them so been hesitant to buy their cds.
So far I really like:
Dark Tranquility, (Only have haven and Projector)
Opeth (have all)
Dimmu Borgir (only have Puritanical Euphoric Misanthropy)
Deathstars
Early Anathema and Katatonia
Agalloch (all)
Lacuna Coil
Some Testament
I feel like such a newbie in the genre but love it, only been listening for a little over a year as it was just introduced to me when I was in Afganistan. My friends say my tastes are really spread out and wierd so they can't think of any other reccomendations.
Anyone have any reccomendations that are along these lines? I really like the deep growls in Opeth and Dark tranquility. The agressiveness really pumps me up when I work out.
Thanks in Advance
Also side note, that piano/organ in the newest Dimmu Borgir video is pretty fuckin cool =p
