do not be so hard on her...she might be unaware of the facts you and i take for granted but if she seeks you to have faith she does not means bad like other christians she is just your mom and cares about you....
Being hard on her comes nomal to everyone that knows her. You don't necessarily know what i go through at home with her. It's a living hell.

my mom is Bhuddist, so she doesn't give me religious shit. Although she does frequently remind me of my "karma". The rest of my family is the problem. On Christmas or whenever I see them, they always bring up religion because they know I can't keep my mouth shut about the inanities of Christianty. Then they start talking like "poor little Godless Phoebe, we'll guide you to the light."

My mother believes in God, but she wisely dropped the whole religious dogma thing and lets us live however we want. Her motto is, "It doesn't matter who you do or don't worship, or who you are. Heaven isn't reserved for devout Christians, any person who has a good heart can go." I truly do respect her for that belief, and I wish Christians in general thought like that.
On the flip side, my siblings are all Christians and they dislike me on those grounds (for obvious reasons). We get into spectacular arguments which they usually claims I am the way I am because I'm rebelling against God and seeking attention, blah blah blah. I truly do resent them for being so fuckin ignorant, sanctimonious, and closed-minded.

I'm also Christian, and I found it disheartening when people in here keep giving out about it. But I would never try and change anyones faith, I think all that missionary crap that has gone on through the years is terrible, and religious tolerance should be unquestionable. So there you go. I know loads of you would love absolutely tear strips off of me and tell me all about how Chritianity is bollocks, but dont bother because its the way I am.
However, I do not see myself as belonging to any particualar church as I feel that one's faith and beliefs should be individual and that we should not all be sheep sitting in a church. I cannot stand the Catholic or protestant churches, so there you go. Thats my little bit of input
I'm a muslim and my family are muslims too but they never forced me to believe anything. I have been an agnostic(even thought of being a christian but when i learned more i just saw that bible is more like a fairy tale than the word of God, also it has been rewritten and changed by many people), even an atheist. One of the reasons why i became a muslim again is that one of my forefathers' is one of the four of the great leaders of Islam( known as Hazrat Omar Farooq). i also have many more reasons but anyway, here are some verses from Holy Qoran about christians and unbelievers:
109 The Unbelievers - Al-Kafiroon
In the Name of Allah the most Gracious, the Most Merciful

Well,my ID says i am an Orthodox Christian,but I'm very far from being that...I don't believe in god and the christianic religion seems to be tooo fake to me... I have never studied other religions,i'm not really interested in getting one...
i can't feel this inner superior religious feeling some people may feel and i don't believe there is something above us...It's we,the people,who are responsible for our shit...
Moreover i can't believe in Christianity,the religion of Love.I have respect for people around me,but love for me is sth "sacred",a magic word that shouldn't be wasted like that..i can't LOVE everybody around me... Moreover the idea of the perfect god pisses me off.
I guess our ancestors (I am at least talking for the ancinet greek and the nothern people,which aren't my fporbears but at least i know a few things about their religion and mythology) were far to wise to believe in several gods (which weren't perfect like the GOD).These gods actually represented mother nature and its forces and the qualities of man. Unlike the god of christians,the gods of ancient greeks were made according to what human is.The GOD on the contrary is supposed to be something above man and people are made (kat'eikona kai kath'omoiosei=) having him as a pattern (or sth like this-i can't give the exact translation in english.
Btw,I am far from being a pagan,too..i just think that worshipping mother earth etc etc is more sensible.
As i mention before i prefer not to have a religion,I don't believe in life after death,heaven or hell etc.I believe that people are responsible for the fate of this planet and there is noone to save them...
As for my ID,well,this is what pisses me off about the greek society. There are of course some people who really believe in God and stuff,but a significant number of people down here are far from being christian,but they still can't admit it...

I was labeled Christian,just because it is a custom here to have all kind of ceremonies (weddings,funerals etc) in church... I won't do this to my child.I will let it decide whether he/she wants to have a religion...
As for my family,we are all ID-Christains,yet nobody goes to church or cares about religion.....My mum believes there is sth above,but yet she has a very personal philosophy/version about it..and that's why i admire her

Christ I guess has existed,but he was not the son of god,he was just a thouhtful person,opposed to teh ideas of his society and that's he was followed/cursed by many...also i believe that many of his words are twisted through the ages....
NOTE:these are all my personal beliefs,I don't say they are TRUE,they can be as false/illusive as i consider the christian religion to be.... Also my beliefs may change with time,that's something ineveitable....

Christ was as much of a person as Adolf Hitler. They where both great leaders, had great ambition and a great desire of power and they did anything in their hands to get that power. Memorable characters, is funy that if you add killing people to the ecuation ( and let just forget all the people that has been killed in the name of Jebus ) and one goes from being god to being the most evil person of the century.

Both my parents are christians.. I'm not.. I don't believe in any kind of god.. I don't believe that there is ANYthing superior than the human brain.. I believe that everything is accomplishable by just using our fuckin brain.. and I believe in the power of nature..
As for the christian religion.. there are lots of religions.. why is christendom the TRUE one? Why is it that their GOD exist and others' not? The christians.. are they the smart ones who discovered the truth and left everyone else in the darkness?
Something that I REALLY HATE! Why the fuck are we baptised (is that the word?) christians? OK it's my country's "official" religion, but the fuckin laws are supposed to protect our choice of religion.. it's a free country. BUT HOW??
How can one be a NON-christian when they have to pass through hundreds of procedures to CHANGE religion? When one should actually just CHOOSE one! How can one be a NON-christian when everyone's looking at them as if they murdered their mother? How can one be a NON-christian when everyone's slumming their door shut in their fuckin face? How can one be a NON-christian when they "teach" you the shit they chose for you for 10 fuckin years in school? Fuck.. is that a brainwash or what?

i don't know what's the situation elsewhere, but as for germany, "retiring" from the catholic church (which i am still member of, but not for a long time...) is quite a funny procedure:
you first have to go to your cities' court to announce you want to leave catholic church. so far so good, now comes the funny thing. church actually, after being informad of this, excommunicates (?) / banishes you from church, pretending it was THEIR decision to let you son of a ***** fall because of your disbelief. just so they can wash their dirty, stinking hands clean.
