Without a doubt it was a pair of these:
As soon as I got treatment and these in, my mixing jumped up many fold. It went from somewhere semi-pro to full professional immediately, simply because I was able to actually hear what I was doing and make accurate, objective judgments. Ever since I've realized the confidence in knowing what you're hearing to be true is the most important thing in the biz, beyond mics, preamps, compressors, further wank etc. etc.

Agreed on the S7B. We have never got better vocals than with that thing.
This is my best GAS purchase of late, the most flexible and unique boost I've yet laid ears on. I love the thing. Both me and the rhythm guitar player have redefined our tones.
