Your favourite Opeth album, lyrically?

Can't say but certain songs have great lyrics such as
Windowpane
The Moor
Godheads Lament

Concept albums are awesome, lyrically. Gotta love 'em...It seems that most of us are in agreement here.

I just read through the MAYH booklet, and the lyrics got me a little emotional actually, especially the last line (not sung) but written out as:

"A sunrise that never came, still the nightlamp that never faded away. Farewell was the world, and the afterglow was the brave morning. Rising and telling everyone about the beauty of its Prologue.."

Wow

SL isnt written as good as MAYH? you've got to be kidding!!

SL ALL THE WAY

i really wonder how anyone can prefer the lyrics of orchid and morningrise over the latter albums...yeah some nice imagery, depictions, this and that but come on! it's mostly crying in the forest or waiting under the howling moon stuff.

on the other hand, the rest of the stuff is much more mature and thought-out. much better than any modern poetry these days

i could tell as soon as i saw the thread topic it would turn into SL vs. MAYH, but i'm with MAYH all the way

"when can i take you from this place...."
