Cradle of Filth "Dusk and Her Embrace"

The first extreme metal SONG I ever heard I wasn't ready for, it was "Gurgling Rotten Feces" by Aborted and I was like 12.

Dusk and Her Embrace is not too bad for CoF to be honest. Plus I got that album pretty early into the introduction to extreme metal too, so I guess it's a nostalgia thing.

This was my first extreme metal album as well. I believe the year was 1997. I also like i still even though I dont listen to it that often anymore.

Depending on where you draw the line for extreme metal I got Machine Heads "the more things change" in the same order as the CoF album.

Ok now that I think of it a little more I would have to say it would have to be Venom - Black Metal back in the early eighties..

I bought Dimmu Borgir's Death Cult Armageddon when I was just getting into metal. I gave it away almost immediately.

I later acquired another copy of that album as well as Emperor's In the Nightside Eclipse. I've kept my copy of Emperor, but have since given away (again) my copy of DCA.

Mine were Master of Puppets - Metallica and South of Heaven - Slayer. Around the age of 12/13ish, I always had friends that were a tad bit older and of course they had friends that were even older and at that time, I really had no sense of what music I really liked and when I was opened to a different sound of music, I absolutely fell in love. And my older brother and oldest cousin would give me a lot of what they listened too aswell. But, those were the first two albums I were introduced to.

Well I got Ride the Lightning and MoP in 4th grade but I wouldn't consider Metallica Extreme metal

I can see what you are saying. I guess I was just thinking back too far and remembering the feeling where I actually felt like that it was. Around that age, I felt like that it was the craziest thing I ever heard.

And metal wrath, I am 18 about to be 19 in August. I am pretty young, I guess.
