The title says it all...
And since the fans are what help the band, what do you think would be a cool addition to the upcoming DVD?
(If it's not already completed)

Here's mine:

1) Do you guys remember the old Katatonia site (LFDGD era)?
Remember the intro had the catchiest gloomy melody that would repeat itself perpetually
and people would ask where it came from and Anders stated it was created only for the website and now its gone?
They should add that intro melody for the upcoming DVD menu list!

2) A ton of bootleg footage! Whoever has Katatonia shows recorded ...old or new....send them to Anders!
Share the things that some people would never have a chance to see!
He would most likely add it to the DVD too because he is going to add a recording from the BW & BK fest
that I recorded when they played in Cleveland!

3) Make it a 3 disk DVD set!
(Sorta like Dimmu Borgir's - World Misanthropy Limited Edition 3 DVD Box Set)

One Disk can be an entire proffesionaly recorded show (with backstage footage, interviews, etc)
Second Disk can be a bunch of random bootleg footage (old Katatonia)
Disk Three can be a bunch of random bootleg footage (new Katatonia)

As Anders stated himself:

this dvd has been a long process... the label really just wants to see it on the shelves,
but we just dont want it to come out half assed, so its takin longer than expected.
if it was purely up to me, i wouldn't release a dvd yet. i'd wait for years and years of
exclusive footage and do it in a big way. A new main show for this DVD will be planned and
shot with more careful directing behind it during next year (tba). We're also pretty far
on our way of gathering cool backstage and bootleg shots with our own handycam,
that will in the end make up some great bonus footage for a well worthwhile killer release.

So what are your ideas? We still might have some time!

If the show won't be recorded until next year, there should definately be enough time. I don't know.

I would like to see some drunkenness!!!!!!!!!!!
Always really cool with some party clips.

I would like to see some in depth personal conversations with the bandmembers.....like I am a fly on the wall in their house....some insight into what they are like on a day to day basis.

I guess I feel like I know the musical aspect of them fairly well and live footage would be great....my desire is feeling of comraderie (spelling?) when the dvd is over....for all of us to know them better.....lol I think I just want to hang out with them and to feel like I know them a bit...

It certainly seems as if Anders wants to do things right and Im sure they will be.....rokkin

yes this would be cool!
I also would like to see them in the studio during the recording session, something similar to the Opeth Lamentations DVD and then backstage clips from their tours, what they do before and after the shows, how they prepare themselves before the show etc.

My (rather impossible) wishes:
I would love to hear / see any kind of recording from the 2001 gig in Hamburg with Opeth where Jonas sang "Credence" and Anders did "Forest Of October". That was totally great!! But I doubt they recorded that at all, what a pity...
But ok, apart from a good recorded gig (though it'll never be the same as a real live gig) I would like a very detailed report on their way of making/ recording a song. How do they communicate, how do they discuss their own music and eachothers ideas, how much does everyone contribute, how do they piss off eachother (ahhhh, no, of course they are nice guys ;) ) , how do they compromise and how do they manage to get such an incredibly brilliant result every time?!?!?!
But I guess it's difficult to film that in an authentic way unless they always have their camera on (Big Brother style :) )

I really would like to hear those Opeth songs sung by Jonas and Anders!
I really regret I missed that show, so you'll do me a great favour if you could share that show!

Yes, please share this with Ether!! And then Ether will share it with me :)

I would love to see some interviews and stuff, Katatonia are so elusive, I have no idea what any of the members sound like when they are talking normally.

I just got a great idea!
They should make 1 special show where they play the entire BMD album :D
I know that would be real hard for Jonas to do, but maybe if he practices a little he can pull it off :)
Yeah, like Slayer with "Still Reigning" DVD.

Katatonia - "Still Bravely Murdering Daily" DVD, out soon :D

Seriously, what I'd like to see on the DVD is a documentary like on the Opeth DVD, about the recordings of the Deliverance & Damnation albums. But of course I don't know if such footage is available..

I don't really care what's on the DVD. I just want them to release both the unreleased tracks from the Viva Emptiness sessions already. I hear one will be on the upcoming 2nd "best of" release, but where the hell is the other one??

It seems they will re-record it for the next album.
