mankind is doomed...no matter what.....we are to smart for our own good....in a good few religions mankind is doomed to some destructive fate.....i honestly hope that if something is going to happen..it happens before our plague of existence spreads to another planet and starts the process over again.....perhaps mankind is the parasite of this galaxy....and until a "cure" is found for us..we will go from planet to planet reaking mass destruction on them.....i agree to an extent with Mr.V that Cosmos isnt happy and will eventually find a vaccination for our existence....

it is, I collect leaves of flowers etc. when they fall off and press them, using books for it. when I make the paper I put them on the piece of paper, looks beautiful and you can make nice things of it. If you buy those stuff in the shop, you will pay a lot of money...

From http://www.climatehotmap.org

"Austria -- Record glacial retreat. Emergence of a frozen Stone Age mummy from a melting glacier in the Oetztal Alps indicates that glacial ice is more reduced today than at any time during the past 5,000 years."

"Austria -- Alpine plants retreat up mountains. Over a 70 to 90 year period, alpine plants in the Austrian and Swiss Alps moved higher up on mountain slopes in response to an increase in average annual temperature."

my thoughts about the world , its a big piece of crap. the
facts about this world : a damn disgusting load of bullshit. the nature of this world is basically wonderfull , and stupid humans don't deserve to live in it. its time we end like those dinosaurs. and to quote strapping young lad (again) fuck you stupid human beings (that is include myself , indeed)

Yes, recycling is pretty thorough in Germany, fortunately. If I look at my room right now, I'd say I gotta do SOME recycling once again... I'm just lazy when I'm at home

Gotta read some of those links, just when I'm back at home then...

Well, the computer was going to stop the use of paper wasn't it?
But it only made us print out more shit >:eek:P hehe

Yeah, I know about all of those Fjell, but can I be arsed doing
any of it? Nah. Some of it is easy, like sorting the trash, normal
day habit, but we don't have that here. Where I used to live
we had it and it was funny cause when the dustcart arrived
they dumped it all in the same place. Then what's the point? >)

There are hundreds of things I could do to make things better,
my point is I'm too lazy, I am egoistic and only want things
to be easy. The day I walk around half of Oslo to find the best
washingpowder for nature will be the day I am out of a job
and has all the time in the world. I hardly have time to buy
myself food, and where I buy food, I also find washingpowder >)
Hate me for it, I'm just saying what my life is like, and many
many other's...

I also believe that my little life won't help in the end. Everybody
have to do the same thing to make it work, this means replacing
the harmful washingpowder with the good one in the local
groceries store. Replace bad meat with no meat at all? Hehe....
Get ecological stuff (I do that, but just cause it tastes better,
egoistic, again)..... This costs a lot of money, who is willing
to give all that money? The market powers rule.

Argh, you all hate me now :eek:P I'm destroying mother earth!

Oh yeah. I don't think I'd have to work with a 70 page document to do my job if it weren't for computers! And the final spec would probalby be less than 300 pages!

As for recycling here. At least at home. Yeah, you can sort it, but you always wonder if it doesn't all end up in the same place anyway... :(

I sometimes wonder what i did in a past life that SO bad that I had to be reincarnated in this time. I don't believe in evolution because humanity has not done that - I believe in devolution because it's obvious that that's what humanity has been doing for tens of thousands of years now.
I hate the violence, I hate the waste, I hate the hatred, I hate the selfishness. I hate the apathy.
I have only one child because that is all I really feel that my husband and I can take responsiblity for. We put all our energy into teaching him how to respect the world around him and to give a damn about things, so if he grows up to do that then I will feel that we have made one slight difference to the situation of this world.
People have tons of kids and don't want to raise them, teach them. It only adds to the problem. Raising kids in this present world is very difficult because they are up against so much. Parents must be there to help them. The little children of today are the future and who knows, if taught properly, they could be the ones who will turn all this shit around.

But there are lots of ppl thinking that, isn't it? If 1000 of them though, "no, I do make a difference", instead, then they would make a difference, now wouldn't they?

But I understand that anbout time and effort and money. I do'nt do all those things I listed, myself. I wish I did. Sometimes I'm ashamed of myself for not doing it. But I do believe that I can make a difference.

So, for instance, I don't eat at McDonalds. If I want a burger when I'm in some city, I'll go to some small place instead. That's not much of an effort. And I don't buy anything from L'Óreal, Max Factor, CK, Tommy Hilfiger, Johnson&Johnson, 'cause they test on animals. These are eay thing to do, that do make a difference.

Hehe...you posted a lot in there......did you mean this part then?:

It's the same reason I don't really believe that my vote really counts. Sure, if all the people like me changed our ways, we can make quite a difference. BUT if I change my ways, it will not cause anyone else to change their ways, so I'll keep my slightly destructive ways.

Well, of course, if you change your ways it does not necessarily cause others to do the same. But there is a chance they will do so.

Also, why would you change your ways after all? You would do it because you feel it is the right thing to do.......not what the result or effect may be.
At least that is what I do. If I happen to convince others, great. If not, at least I know I did what I could.
I try to do a lot of the things on Fjell's list, not all of course. In the end, a lot comes down to one's lazyness (completely agree with Fjell about that "feeling ashamed") and to money because it often is more expansive to buy that ecological stuff.
People tend to call me too concerned about this but I don't feel so at all. I care too less, that's what I'm worried about the most.
Just go into an ordinary supermarket and look at all the packaging material and stuff.......I don't see why we should need so much of all that.

Yeah, you picked the right quote.
Yeah, there is a chance that all the others will do so, but me not doing it won't make much of a difference then either. I'll just feel more guilty about it.

As for the 2nd part. It is the RIGHT thing to do BECAUSE of its effects.

But, yeah, in the end, I am super-fucking-lazy.

So, if WE here already do that, instead of saying what the hell, I'm just a drop on the hot stone, and know that the others also say "Yeah, let's make a difference" it would already be a great deal.

I'm in. Let's make a difference. Just to let you know :) (don't you think it helps to know that someone does also try, hm?)

That's how I think as well. If other's won't do it, at least I know that I have done my part.
But still, I do believe it can make others follow. I followed! I didn't think about all of this just by myself, but was told of things.
For instance about McDonalds. Then, if someone asks me to go there to eat, I say I won't, and why. Some of those I've said that to, have quit going there to eat. There are lots of ppl who won't eat there. I'm not the only one. But even if I alone won't make McDonalds smaller, at least I don't contribute to make them bigger! And that is, for me, worth it!
