I always loved The Gathering, but her solo material touches me in a way The Gathering never did. Simply beautiful.

The new Funeral Mist rules... The Gathering is a cool band of which I own a bunch of albums. I didn't know about her solo work, I'll have to get that.

I saw Mastodon live and they kicked ass, but I never liked them on album. The stuff just isn't good unless it's live. IN MY OPINION... Almost forgot to type that. ;D

But in complete seriousness, beyond the deuce joke, I haven't really heard too much new in 2009 yet. Maybe I'm just missing things, but I don't know. What are some new metal releases? I've got such a huge backlog of stuff from previous years that I really haven't heard anything new.

Did the new Cynic and Gojira come out 2009? Cause they're good. I might have to go with that. -_-

I have not bought anything thus far 2009.Guess I`ve been a bit busy. I need to go check a few bands out.
Heard a new Cannibal Corpse song that kicked ass.
I need to get some of the earlier ND.I only have the last two and a few songs from earlier releases.

and that is about all I have been able to check out.

Any of you peeps out there into stuff in the vein of technical death black metal I would highly recommend checking out a band called Dreaming Dead that is on Ibex Moon records. The new album Within One looks to be one of highlighs I am looking forward to.
