Your Top 2009 releases so far...

Tomorrow Turned Into Yesterday and I Voyager are definitely the standout tracks on that album.

As I said before though, it was a combination of that CD for me being a step down from Dead Heart, along with a very disappointing live performance on that tour that turned me off from them.

I think EoR is a cool album in its own right, especially after the remix. Not a lot of feeling, but the raw aggression and hooks are there.

I actually really like the guitar tone on EoR. All they really needed too was to mix the drums up a little higher and I thought it would have been acceptable production.

Saw Nevermore twice, one was on the Neon Black tour in a small town around Madison. They played about 4 politics songs and DNB complete. That was pretty fantastical. The second time was craptacular mostly due to venue. Sound suxed and they got the power turned off on them half way through the set because it was past 9 and it was an all ages show. Opeth was on that tour though and they were pretty good.

I like Enemies a lot. I liked it when I first heard it with the "bad" production. I didn't mind the production on the first issue. Enemies has some of my favorite Nevermore songs on it, but I do find myself skipping some songs on that album.

It could also be a reviewer who gets all the free CDs to review, rips it to MP3 and then sells the discs to the stores for a couple of dollars. I actually know a "reviewer" who brags about doing this.

and I agree with you - Lost Soul is crazy good!!! For my money, they are the cream of the crop in Polish DM at the moment. Vader and Behemoth had pretty strong efforts in '09 as well, but Lost Soul has 'em beat!
