Zakk Wylde MXR OD Pedal instead of Tubescreamer

I couldn't get my hands on a Tubescreamer to place in front of a 5150 for this album i'm doing but i managed to get myself the ZW pedal


all i can say is that it's a great sub for the Tubescreamer and personally it impressed me a hell lot compared to using a tubescreamer for the 1st time

my settings are close to what andy has posted

all i can say is i hope someone tries both the TS and ZW OD side by side

I tried it (not on a 5150 though) along with many other pedals in a shop, on a Mesa, and my favorite one was definately (and by far) the Ibanez TS (no Maxon to try out), but it's always nice to have different flavours.

I meant for recording though, using it the way andy or many other bands do to tighten up the amp distortion

I had a ZW overdrive...... Sold it after 5 days on ebay and bought the Maxon....

i have a Boss japan sd-1 super overdrive... but i plugged it in front of the 5150 and i disliked it, but i need to make new tests too.
it sounds solid state
