"Thanks Chargers!!!"

A real good game. Brees didn't play great in the second half, but made the play he needed to make, to swing the game. As for the run by Turner... not a huge surprise. The kid has got talent.

I would have been more excited about this win had we beat the Fins last week. Unless the Jags or the Steelers fuck up, we'll be on the outside looking in. A true shame, as I think we have the second best team, in respect to overall talent, in the league. Hopefully, we can deal Rivers in the off-season for a a veteran CB and a pick. I think we have a real shot next year.

Us Chiefs are going to beat you next week at Arrowhead!

(only problem is... we won't make the playoffs, and neither will SD... Pitt won today and their next 2 games are easier than NAD's mother)

Possible, but i doubt it. The Chiefs just had their hearts ripped out twice in two weeks. They were, for all intensive purposes, eliminated from the playoffs this past weekend by the Giants. So I'd be surprised if they got off the mat and beat the Chargers, especially since we are the more talented team and we still have something to play for.

You're probably right Zod, but I must say, the Pats are indeed starting to look like their old selves and will be as dangerous as any team in the playoffs.
While I have a great deal of respect for the Patriots, and especially Brady, I'd be very confident if we had the chance to lineup across from them week one of the playoffs. While I appreciate that they're better now, than when we came into Foxboro and absolutely shithammered them, so are we. Merriman has become an absolute force (he's going to be the 2005 Defensive RotY and a one-man wrecking crew for the next 10 years) and Castillo has made huge strides. Some teams just don't match up well against other teams, and I don't believe the Pats match up well against us. However, that doesn't much matter, since we'll be home when the playoffs start up.

I personally believe whichever team has homefield for a Pats/Chargers game takes it. The Chargers have the talent, but lack the experience, which I believe is a vital ingredient to playoff success. We'll see though, I certainly would not write them off against ANY team, especially after yesterday. They've indeed shown that on any given day they are capable of great things.

More talented? Defensively maybe. Gates is good, but Gonzalez is still the measuring-stick for tight ends. Green and Brees are a toss-up, but LJ has outperformed LT all year. WRs probably a toss-up, Kennison-McCardell and Parker-Caldwell. O-line is not even close.

We will win at Arrowhead... this is a team that had nothing to play for the last half of the season last year but still managed to annihilate Denver 45-17 at home late in the year. So I don't think the "you have nothing to play for" card is going to work. Vermeil will make sure everyone shows up. And don't forget how much these teams hate each other (although I care much less about the Bolts than I do the Broncos and Raiders).

But like I said, this game won't have any playoff implications. Pittsburgh holds the tiebreaker over SD and, even if SD wins out, Pitt has two VERY EASY games coming up and, with the same record as SD, will take the sixth AFC spot.

And Zod, this doesn't pertain to you because it appears you've been an SD fan for a while, but I love it how one sees a shitload of Chargers jerseys everywhere when three years ago you couldn't find three fans on the entire east coast. Tis funny, is all.
