Zod, I have two words for ya....

Well done. LT didn't bring it yesterday. Dropped a couple of catchable passes, including the INT. No TDs and no 100 YD rushing games in his last four games... I'm guessing he's hurting more than he's letting on. I wish the coaching staff knew that. They could have started Turner. I believe he could have been very effective yesterday (his style is similar to LJs), on that field.

You guys dominated the lines. Merriman was a no-show.

Johnson is a beast. Not exactly a newsflash. Though I believe LT is the most talented RB in the league, with LJ's downhill running style and with 4 All-Pros on the O-Line, he would be my pick if I had the #1 in any of my FF leagues next season. I actually have him in two of my three leagues this season.

Good luck next week.

Most talented PURE RB in the NFL = Shawn Alexander.
Most underrated? No doubt. I don't watch SA every day, so it's hard for me to speak about him with the same insights that I have with LT. However, I've watched LT do mind-boggling things behind an O-Line, that over the course of his career, has been somewhere between god-awful to average.

Don't get me wrong, as a Raiders fan, I've seen LT plenty. The guy is unreal and probably the best overall offensive player in the NFL.

I just wanted to point out that as a pure RB, there is no one better than Alexander. The guy scored his 27th TD yesterday for criminy's sake! And he's got 1 more game to go (though Seattle might just rest him).

Honestly, I don't watch enough of Alexander to know. I've had him on my fantasy team during a number of the last few seasons. He's often been (at least statistically) very inconsistent; 3 TDs and 170 YDs on one Sunday, and them 0 TDs and 42 YDs the next.

What a garbage TD that was too. Was watching the game on NFL Sunday Ticket - Alexander was out of the game the entire offensive series (Maurice Morris ran the entire time). They got down to the one yard line on a great run by Morris, then Alexander came back in to get the TD. Honestly, that kind of stuff bugs me when TD records and league leading stats are at stake. Not to take anything away from his talent or season by any means, but it was still lame.

I would hesitate to call him inconsistent, Zod; at least no moreso than any other RB in the league.

The guy has 1900 yards from scrimmage this year (a Seahawks record), and 27 TDs. While LT is also an offensive monster, there has been no more consistent "TD machine" in the NFL in the past 5 years (never had less than 16 TDs).

No, I got what you meant. I mean, EVERY RB has "inconsistent" weeks, from time-to-time. Look at LT; he ran all over Oakland, and then managed 16 yards vs. Philly. You know, it just happens.

I think if you pay more attention to Alexander, you'd see what I mean. The guy is an animal. FYI, his yardage output this year, game-by-game: 73, 144, 140, 98, 119, 141, 61, 173, 165, 115, 110, 49, 108, 172, 139. Pretty durned consistent, no?

Agreed. I've been high of Shaun for years, and I rode him to victory in two of my leagues this season. However, in previous years, it always seem that one week he'd score 30 points (fantasy points) and the next 4. It was maddening.

Shaun Alexander ain't gonna do CRAP in the playoffs. Why? He just appeared on the cover of Sports Illustrated! I remember when my beloved Chiefs were 9-0 two years ago and the fuckers put them on front. We didn't even win a playoff game.

Oh, by the way, if the front office elects Holmes over Johnson next year, I'm gonna be PISSED. Not pissed enough to stop pulling for them (I've been a fan since 95 and if I haven't stopped pulling for the Chiefs by now, I never will), but... you know. Holmes gets hurt WAY too often.

Ha ha ha, the S.I. curse. It's been broken now though, so I wouldn't worry too much about Alexander doing nothing in the playoffs. Which NFC team can possibly stop him? Chicago? Maybe. No one else though, that's for sure.

Anyway, I wouldn't be all that concerned about Holmes over Johnson. KC is not a dumb franchise; the changing of the guard has occured. Hell, the Priest is probably going to retire anyway. And LJ is going to run for 2,000+ next year (if he plays all 16).

In an ideal situation, Johnson would have 3/4 of the touches at RB and Priest would be a 3rd down sometimes-goal-line pass-catching back. But I doubt he'd accept a diminished role. The fucker hasn't heven been attending the games since he got hurt, I don't think.
