The first time I heard Opeth, I thought "good music, shame about vocals". Then I kept listening to them and listening to them. I always appreciated the music and the clean vocals, but not the growls. Then they started to grow on me. Slowly, but carefully. Finally, I really started enjoying them...

Blackwater Park - the clean section: firstly, the clean guitar has a mild level of distortion, which you hear better when he plays hard. Gives it a dark-sounding feel. Also, you hear Mikael's voice several times. I guess most people have heard it, but I always liked it.

I thought Harvest was about laying in death-bed. Hardly a wedding-song.

I don't really see the problem with it being a 2-year old show. Lamentations is even older, yet I still watch it the day today.

I have a love/hate-relationship with this song. The clean section I love, but never been a big fan of the more heavy section. Just don't think any of the riffs are up to Opeth's standards. Not bad, but not great either.

Videos. Check out the Making Ofs or live videos. Other times it's just pure guessing. Still, some of the solos for Blackwater Park (the album) gives away the soloist in the lyrics. The 5:06 solo in Wreath is by Peter and the 7:57 is by Mikael, btw. As for my input: Peter seems to be using lots...

Eh, I'm so lazy. Still haven't learned the part, can't be arsed to sit down and just do it slow. Know the rest of the song though (except both solos). It's so much more fun to know how to play songs than the actual learning process. I know it's kinda vital, but I always found it pretty dull...

Nothing wrong with understanding what you are doing. A car mechanic might not need training to do what he does, but it doesn't hurt. I tried listening, but couldn't make it out.
