I have only heard the 1995 demo but from listening to that, I’m inclined to agree. The song “Burning Eye of Infinity” is definitely one of highlights in my opinion.

It's a demo for crying out. Of course the recording is low quality but to judge it based the production value without paying any attention to the actual compostion itself is vacuous.

I found The Essence quite enjoyable with it's creative approach to making death metal that is semi-technical and melodic, though it could do without the intros and interludes that are somewhat redundant. Is Beyond the Veil any good?
