I use mine for 3+ years with no problems... (daily use with a lot of tracks) i backup my hdds daily. Sometimes twice a day if i work a lot...

I have the DTXplorer Set. I replaced all the rubber pads with real shells (mesh heads) and use the pads as Cymbals which works great. I use a DM5. Sure, it still doesn't feel like a real kit but it's really cool for demoing stuff and even rehearsal...

Are you using a external Hdd for recording? I had similar problems but solved it with getting another internal hdd for all the audio stuff... Or maybe it's one of your RAM sticks...
