I've noticed ALOT of metal bands are using Vader Cabs live. But havent heard of anyone using them for studio work. Does anyone have any experience with them? Or Impulses perhaps?

Hmm, well I dont think I'll go through the trouble of making one then. Thats a good point about oncee you fret the string, any benifit would be lost.

I've heard of bone nuts for acoustic guitars before, I was curious if anyone on here has experience with bone nuts on electrics. What type of sound improvement do they offer? I"ve got some deer antler lying around and was thinking of making a couple to replace the plastic nuts my guitars...

I've always disliked the feel of a FR bridge, I find that I can palm mute better on a TOM or Kahler type bridge. I Actually Love the way my Washburn wonderbar bridge feels...too bad they're not in production anymore

Haha I hate hearing people say that EMG's make all guitars sound excatly the same. Every Guitar I've played with EMG's sound quite different, but all sonically perfected for the metal gods, Like a goat is sacrificed for each note played to ensure its heard all the way to the depths of hell...

I have a Washburn RS 10v (PRS copy from the 80's. I had the 81-85 combo in it, and it had a killer tone (other then the sound from the graphite fretboard) And its a mahogany body/neck maple top. And my USA kramer vanguard has an 81 in the bridge, mahogany body/maple neck, really sharp and clear...

Thats what I've been thinking after looking up the spces and reviews on the pickups. I guess I'll save up for some of the new EMG 81 X's and pick out a set of pickups from my Box O' Pickups until then.

I prefer DR Blue Blues 52-12 for C tuning on my Kramer which is a 25 1/2 scale. I'm putting together a guitar for drop A tuning, and are going to try a string approach similar to niles, which is 15-24-32-42-52-70. We'll see how that works out as soon as its all together.

I got offered a good deal on a Kent Armstrong M213k pickup or a Dimarzio PAF Pro. Anyone used these? Would they be suitable for metal? I'm usually an EMG fan, but was wanting maybe try something different

I believe Dallas Taylor Wade of Nile Swears by the Peavey Rockmaster Preamp, and I think he tracked with his on Annihilation of the Wicked and Ithyphallic
