Need to replace nut on Schecter Omen 6?

I got a used Omen 6 (Diamond Series, which I am pretty sure is Shecter's low end line) a while back, and though the neck seems reasonable and it isn't a bad guitar, the strings are WAY too low. The nut is a touch over 1/4 inch high from the bottom part of the neck, but considering relatively...

    Anyone that's been lucky enough...

I remember $35 but I've been known to be wrong... the hoodie was like $60... $45 for an Opeth Zippo. Which would be pretty awesome

Boston HOB and May 2 show....

The Lotus Eater kicked serious ass. Credence and The Night And The Silent Water were of course beautiful Some hilarious moshing going on, a couple dancing a jig in the farther back pit later on... anyone else see the guy being carried out (looked unconscious? Maybe just injured) just a few...

Cool, thanks :) Sounds like a hell of a venue all around, too

Novembers Doom... why not more love from the Opethian faithful?

I listen to ND on occasion... but they're really quite doom metal-ish and I have to be in a certain mood (really pissed off or really tired and slow) for their slow and often actively unhappy sounding music. Opeth has a song for every mood and they do it better. I do like and even on a bad day...

Boston HOB and May 2 show....

Never been to this venue before so I have a question... basically, I have some tickets purchased a while back and I have some friends who want to go to the show in addition to those who all got their tickets together previously. The tickets have clearly marked row and seat numbers and the ones...

    Leper or Drapery?

Though it's too late to make a difference here I'll just throw in that TDF is likely the better choice just because it won't scare the audience away too much. While I'm usually not one to cater to non-metalheads its probably just inappropriate to blast an aggressive song like TLA in their faces...

    Opeth @ Worcester Palladium

Opeth played quietly compared to the last time I saw them. Very quietly. I think it's necessary for the Palladium, too loud and it just echos and reverberates and sounds like shit... the sound was very good during Opeth's set.

    Opeth @ Worcester Palladium

The moshing was good until I took a punch directly in the eye closely followed by a knee to the jaw, at which point I decided that if people were going to be aiming that well/badly (there appeared to be a few people thinking it was a hardcore show but I'm not sure if it was them) I would rather...

    Opeth @ Worcester Palladium

So would people guess it'll probably be over by 11:45 at the latest? It sounds like it'd be over even earlier then that if the Palladium worked like the Orpheum but I suspect the music won't start until WAY after 7. The Orpheum started on time to the minute.

    Opeth's Dunlop picks

I'm not sure what Akerfeldt uses but I know that I always use Jazz 3's... once you get used to them they're brilliant, very fast and they make pinch harmonics easy. I agree they aren't great for rhythm though.

    Black Rose Immortal: Live?

BRI is an awesome song, and almost any one of it's distinct sections would be awesome songs on their own-- it isn't just the length of the whole thing. I'll often listen to the first half of the song up until the acoustic section, or start listening at the acoustic section if I don't have 20...
