You haven't reduced the dynamics as much as his mixes has. So, compress, compress, compress. Or leave it dynamic and let the listener decide the volume to listen at. God, I long for when reference level is included in the meta tags

This sub-forum should be right. I think you should be able to just clone your macbook's hd. You might have to take out the drive from your imac though. Can't remember if you can clone between the machines. I'll look it up when I get home

As long as you can connect your new drive all you have to do is clone the original drive

I'm using the AUX-channels instead and choose to create an arrange track and then move the "track" to where I want it in the order. Easy to automate and it shows up just where you want it. But what you're describing sound like an issue with environment (cmd-8 iirc) not being setup properly.

Sorry, I assumed live monitoring was setup in the sequencer :) I got My saffire56 yesterday and all I had to do was setup mix control, hence the answer :) My only grub now is that I have to stretch such a long way to regulate the monitor level :/ The volume control in osx is so flaky. Big...

You haven't setup mix control right. Open mix control, down in the left corner choose "Router" and then "DAW Tracking" as router preset.

Only thing I can remember was an ADA MP-1 preamp, went out the door faster than fast. Esp. since I found a STD-1 in the same price class. So it ended well.

If you're referring to the 4-bar rule it's out the window. That's an old rule. Even if you sample 3 bars it's still stealing.

'Cause the send/return is between the input and the output. What's in the send/return will be present in the output, you'd create some kind of loop if you do it like you said.
