18 year old single-malt scotch

MacAllan. A little gift from a friend who had been meaning to give it to me since graduation.

You're such a king, Jim. :kickass:
Great taste in Single Malt.
Shrike approves.

I bought some of this stuff called "The Balvenie" yesterday evening. 12 Year, double cask (Oak, then Sherry). It was a little bit more expensive than the other 12 years and it looks a little bit classier, so I'm looking forward to trying it.

I'm afraid that 12 years is where I draw my limit, since anything in the pricerange above is ludicrously expensive.

Have either of you any special comments on this particular distillery that you'd like to share?

Very full-bodied, smokey, with a sort of burst of flavor when drink that mellows at the end for a smooth finish. Definitely a lot more full-bodied than most single malts.

I found some 16 or 18 year old Glenfiddich in a grocery store here for less than 20 euro. It's a dream scotch.
