Might as well start one of these up since Training Camps officially start today. Looks like Pietrangelo and Franson will at least miss a good chunk of TC, and what the fuck is going on in Philadelphia? (3 years ~9 Mil for fucking Dan Cleary?)

Oh, and Go Ducks!

Philly has a knack for giving too much money to players who don't deserve that kind of dough.

They are going to suck this year just like they did last year. Pronger keeps that team together, and it shows.

I hope my Habs can take their success from last year and elevate their game this year in to bigger and better things!

The Cleary contract at this point is not a for sure thing - it is basically a verbal agreement as far as I know, that once cap space is cleared via Pronger being placed on LTIR he'll be signed

but anything can happen here since it isn't official...

AS LONG AS IT MEANS NO MORE CLEARY WEARING THE WINGED WHEEL I AM OK WITH IT

Looking forward to seeing the Blackhawks back on the ice. Hopefully one of the young players can develop into a legit 2nd line center.

Pressure is on Rask to live up to his mega contract. I usually hate when goalies get the big contract because they usually dont live up to it. But Rask was great in the finals and think he has the goods for the long haul, he'll be just fine esp w the Bruins D-. Igilna is still hungry and now here like he shouldve been last year. I Like their other moves and the Bs are loaded with solid youth, depth and competition for the 3rd & 4th lines and on D-. They'll be primed this year.

Blackhawks will need youngsters to step up, with so many guys playing in the Olympics. Then again, that was not a problem for the core players in 2010. I think fatigue will be their biggest issue. I would want to rest guys like Toews, Kane, Keith, Hossa, and Seabrook heavily. I see no reason to play any of them more than 60 games. Don't try to win the President's Trophy again. Their division now sucks with Detroit pussing their way into the other conference. St. Louis and Colorado could be pretty frisky if their young players take a leap, but it's not a strong division.

Oh, I know it's not official yet, but even thinking about giving Cleary a deal like that is fucking stupid.

... It may be all for not though, as now there's a rumor that Cleary was recently seen with Holland and Babcock in Traverse City.... You might get your wish Mort! ;)

I think Vancouver got the better deal in the Canucks-Rangers coach switch. Vancouver will be badass this year with Tortorella behind the bench.

I cant wait to hear Torts postgame rants on how happy he is with the Sedin sisters shot blocking and back-checking lol.

Resting your 5 best players for 1/4 of the season? That's fucking retarded dude.
Why? I'm not suggesting all at the same time. Just have some guys sit out some back-to-backs. The travel and game intensity for the Olympics is going to wear guys out. I would think all playoff-bound teams would try hard to rest star players more than usual this year.

That is an interesting thought Master. It makes sense and could aid them in making another run at the Stanley Cup. I just don't see coach sitting Kane and Towes out a lot. It will be fun to see how Quenneville handles the lineup throughout the year. The hawks seem to be high on their prospects, or at least that is the explanation they used for letting Bolland and Frolik leave. I'm going to miss the rivalry between Chicago and Detroit and I would love to see these teams face each other in the finals.

If that's such a good idea, then tell me why no team has EVER done that. If you're going to be sitting out players that much, and at different times, you're going to be switching up the lineup all the time. Teams don't work like that.

These guys are in better shape than 99.9999999% of the population anyways, they can handle the workload. This past lockout shortened season was a lot more condensed than this coming up year, and the Hawks did fine. The last time there was an Olympics, the Hawks did perfectly fine then too.
