2013 NHL Thread

Chris Kunitz on team Canada baby. Hey good for him he deserves it, he's been a good player for a long time now, even before he came to Pittsburgh. I actually ran into him one time, he lives pretty close to where I live in Pittsburgh. It was obviously a pretty short conversation but he seemed to like pretty down to earth guy.

The only reason he is on the team is because Sidney Crosby needs a teammate to feed the puck to, because last olympics Crosby did nothing except the obvious golden goal. Atleast now he's got someone to feed the puck to on his wing. Don't get me wrong Kunitz is a decent player, but not even close to the caliber of he rest of the team.

I'm more surprised on how they left Joe Thornton and Martin St. Louis off the team. Like what the fuck...

I'm very happy for Kunitz. Always was a big fan of him when he was in Anaheim, and I was lucky to go to the game when he had his first Hatty (back in November of 06!).

It makes sense too. He may not be the greatest player available, but his chemistry with the best player in the world is pretty special. Might as well take the sure bet, especially since they don't have much time to try stuff. Crosby is hard to play with considering his playing style, so it was the smart, conservative move.

Big game tonight! Ducks vs Bruins! Love ya Muz, but hopefully the Ducks win!

Yeah Ducks and the West conf for that matter is stacked. Bs came out very strong and loved the pace. Ducks capitalized on the pp, Rask had a bad game imo. Tough west coast trip...Bs need to step up!

^ Cause he's a flaming fuckin homo!

So as we are gearing towards the Olympics...if Orpik has the chance to layout Crosby, does he do it? I say no. I love Olympic hockey and what it's all about, yet at the same time i'm not sure if i totally like it w/ NHL players...If this makes any sense? I guess im an old school sucker who grew up around and witnessed the actual "Miracle on ice" ... no more dreaming when we have no more dream teams. Maybe Orpik will put country before a chance to win a Cup and actually lays out Crosby. Dont see it happening so have to question the integrity of it all.

I hate Crosby, but the odds of him getting laid out are slim, it doesn't happen often lol...

Right.

But seriously, as good as last Olympics was...still i have to wonder. Give me a bunch of amped up college kids from BC, BU, MINN, NO. DAKO, MICH etc putting on that USA jersey against Canadas top Jrs and otther countries formable alikes. Sure the pure skill level wont be the same but the commitment, hatred level and no holds bar intensity would be off the charts! Plus the NHL season does not get disrupted and risk of injury to key NHL players (during Olympics) is totally avoided.

God damn it I hate Kris Letang and that stupid stretch pass that he always does. He tried it tonight against the Oilers and it resulted in a turnover (as usual) and then a big goal that brought the oilers right back into the fucking game (which the oilers ended up winning I might add). Should have been a free two points. Fuck.
