I just have a thing against them. The quality just isnt there in my opinion and they are as common as a grain of sand, I like something different.

498,429 miles out of a jap car, thats got to be one of the funniest things you have ever said.:loco:

The quality isn't there in which cars? This conversation is fragmented, lol.

Jap cars, my apoligies.

really? i sorta figured on a roadcourse it'd be up to driver skill, at least v. the 325. shit i dunno, the only racing i ever get is v. giant SUVs and ricers thinking their 1991 Civic hatchback with a 4" exhaust are fast.

No, that's what I mean! A (non-)STi WRX vs. a 325 would be somewhat up to driver skill, but I'm fairly certain the BMW has more muscle at the top end. I'm nowhere near as familiar with Subarus as you are though.

All I know is that I had a 325Xi (which is actually slightly slower than the RWD model), and it was governed/limited at 136mph (trust me, I tested it, lol).

i can definitely understand that. i like things nice and simple in terms of design, layout, etc. form follows function.

Ah ok, nevermind then. :D

Though to be honest - and I'm far from a Japcar apologist (never had one, would really rather keep it that way) - Infiniti & Lexus produce some VERY well-made cars. And Honda is long-known for its reliability and "everyman" quality.

Damn, that's fast. My guess is there is no limiter on the car; I know the BMW (mine only had 184 hp, btw) is indeed governed. In fact, they "ruin" the M3 with a damned governor, or that car would eat Porsches for breakfast. :tickled:

I think the new 3-series has 215 and 240(-or so) hp, respectively.

I havnt touched jap cars either plan to keep it that way also. They have their moments im not saying all jap cars are bad though.

minus the Subaru (and I am not saying that because I love NAD  ) all Jap cars are pretty souless ... my friend has a new G35 Coupe ... nice looking car, drives pretty good, the handling is the pits though on it.

i'm sure there are ways around the gov. in the M3. :Smokedev:

the WRX is drag limited to around 145mph i believe. i only hit the above 140mph one time, but have gone over 130mph on several occasions. the car doesn't really feel fast until above 120mph, which sorta sucks for the thrill factor on freeways, but in the middle of nowhere it doesn't matter. :loco:

why couldnt VW put this into porduction bye bye Porsche bye bye everything.

350 plus Kmph 0/100 = 3.5sec
440KW drools

the Buggati Veyron sounds like something I would literlaly shit my pants in.

it's faster then F1 cars for Gods sake ...

was reading a review in the NY Times this past week, and even the braking is insane ... th driver took his hands off the steering at 150mph and hit the brakes ... no drift or steering wheel correction ... just a straight stop

that thing makes me wet myself from a variety of sources. although it's sorta pointless, i mean where is the skill in a Bugatti? only the top drivers in the world could truly push the limits of that car, or at least successfully.

the MINI camraderie might get me some action ... meeting a couple of MINI single chick drivers tonight at a hookah lounge in the city. :kickass:

Friday night about midnight 20 cars are going to storm Manhattan for the 2nd annual Day Before New Years Eve Run ...

i never did any WRX meets because i've never been interested in short asian women.

oh wait.

hahaha ... see, you are missing on all the fun. cars and potential dates at once.

the only reason I like the MINI community is that we actually go driving together to cool places.

most other car clubs get toghether in some parking lot and stare at eachothers cars and then go home

this is why i didn't do it with the WRX, i did a few times in my Tacoma. people don't drive in SoCal, they put a million foglights on their car aimed every which way and put 400 lbs. of fucking audio equipment in the trunk, then go to the dragstrip in a canyoncarver and wonder why they got a 15.8 in the quarter. ugh.

re: the Veyron ... it's dimensions are certainly misleading in the photos ... size of a Kia Spectra???

Not to worry; the Veyron's credentials speak for themselves. A 1,001-horsepower two-seater that blasts to 60 miles an hour in 2.5 seconds - and continues pulling all the way to 253 m.p.h. - the car is a sheer technological wonder.

Still, nothing prepares the newcomer for the reality behind the bald performance statistics. The Veyron is blisteringly, and effortlessly, fast. Other vehicles on the road appear to stop as the Veyron whooshes past with the ease of a Formula One car. It is a sobering realization that the grand prix racer is not as fast as a Veyron.

Even stationary, the Veyron looks like a car that takes no prisoners. Slightly less than 176 inches long (no longer than a Kia Spectra) and almost 79 inches wide, it is surprisingly compact. Most of the space inside seems to be occupied by an enormous 16-cylinder engine, a seven-speed transaxle and an all-wheel-drive system. Ten radiators are required to disperse all the heat the Veyron's mechanical systems generate.
