Obese people are weak-minded individuals with no self-control and therefore are more likely to commit white-collar crimes (notice how every mafia boss is obese?), which by the way result in a much greater loss of government money than regular crimes. They destroy families, prospects and businesses.
Consumers of alcohol on the other hand benefit the government with billions of dollars annualy from their purchases. Wine drinkers, who are most likely to consume alcohol only in moderation (as stated in my oneliner), are among the most educated and intelligent of people, and are therefore less likely to commit crimes.

that's where you are wrong. Obese people are the biggest consumers of fast food from restaurants such as McDonalds, burger king, and KFC, all of which have meat in their main dishes. Here's a challenge for you: find any of these restaurants where the majority of the staff aren't overweight.
Obese people are a huge burden to society because of their lawsuits, health benefits, "disabilities", and so on.
All this aside, the base truth in my oneliner remains valid.
