Same here, those are two bands that I still enjoy to this day & aren't too high on the cheese factor...:tickled:

There was one cheese factor though.. the lead singers (other hair bands as well) all wanted to look or sound like Steve Tyler lol with their flowing silky bandana's tied on their microphone stands and bandana's around their heads.. especially Tom Keifer more then Vince hehe :yuk:

Celtic Frost agree :loco:

God what the hell were they thinking back then lol from a Gloom/Doom metal band to a hair band.. they should've of been shot lol ... i'm glad King Diamond didn't decide to look like a chick (they are the ugliest looking chicks and if King D did it he would of been called Queen Diamond instead lol ).. :yuk:

Wouldn't you regret that? Anyway, the past is buried. On the other hand Bruce Dickinson sum all the fears in his song 'Tattoed Millionaire', and then again "Dance Of Death" sucks with or without eyeliner :loco:

I believe some were, some weren't. Dokken, Motley Crue, Quiet, Twisted Sister and Ratt were, but Poison, Cinderella, Bon Jovi, Warrant and Faster Pussycat were merely just hard rock.

Personally I think they were all hard rock with a glammy image.
Dokken metal????!!!!!!:tickled: :tickled: :tickled: :tickled:
Dude, listen to Kiss Of Death, Night By Night, Mr. Scary, Tooth And Nail, When Heaven Comes Down, Turn Up The Action, Unchain The Night, Lightnin' Strikes Again, etc. Then report back. They weren't heavy fucking METAL, but those songs will show you they had in them, totally.

Right, it was hard rock!!!!!
Just because Lynch has some moster
riffage goin' on doesn't make it metal.

Whatever. This is a tired argument i've had many a time. I know you're not gonna back down, i know i'm not, so whatever. You keep your opinion. I'm done with this.

And can i vent here? No? well, fuck you. I am anyway. This sub- genre shit is really getting on my nerves. I mean, seriously. It frustrates the living hell out of me. I just give the fuck up. You won't see me in any genre discussion anymore.

And this has nothing to do with this particular discussion Sixx, so don't think you pissed me off. This just feels like an appropriate place to sound off.

Let's say Dokken were hard rock and Metal at the same time then :loco:

Nah forget it....... let's say Dokken rocked hard whatever they're labeled!!! (where's that guitar smiley when you need it?)

Peace ;)

I'll agree with Fang the Peace maker.
But before I let this one go...
I Can't for the life of me, understand, why on earth people get so worked up over things? If you don't like, don't post, better yet don't read!
If you read the Hetfield on the Radio thread, I specifically posted a little
opening comment. Something like, if you're gonna blast Metallica, make it good. None of this "sucks" rubbish! That's so fucking generic, it's of a 6 year old mentality. Now, if I read the Is this Metal or Not thread & was gonna bust a fucking vein about it I would just let it go & move on.
Why on earth would I take it personally?! It's fucking music for God's sake!!!! I see it no different, that changing the channel on the idiot box, the dial on the damn radio, or something of the sort.
I call 'em like I see 'em & if you don't "ignore me."

hahahaha Funny thing you mention that Hetfield thread.... I ended up Ignoring that Moron Some kind of Monster he just couldnt seem to understand that other people have an opinion which is different than his I dont like that

Kudos to JD for using his freedom of choice.
I didn't even read that one because Hetfield and Crapallica won't move me a bit. Sad for a band that I rvered up to 1988.
In any case, I noticed lately a lot of "flamers" coming to the pond to warm the waters, and like JD I guess also that my IL (ignore list) will be engrossed :flame:

Sad but true (pun damn intended :p )

Same here, if there's a thread that doesn't ineterst me I tend to ignore it.
Why bother you know? I'm guilty of coming up with some lame assed threads &
that's cool. I can live with that. They might try to "warm" the pond
but I have a barrel of agent orange ready to go, it surely will blast them out of these waters.
