80s hair bands (more for the old schoolers)

No, it's just that you would get a way better response there because people there actually listen to hair metal.

WASP isn't a hair band, they're heavy fucking metal. The majority of the time, at least.

Have you ever listened to W.A.S.P. or seen what they looked like?
Good hair bands:
Motley Crue
Skid Row
W.A.S.P.
L.A. Guns
Def Leppard (first 3 albums)
Dokken (first 2 albums)
Vinnie Vincent Invasion
Twisted Sister
Lizzy Borden
Dangerous Toys
Pantera (pre-Cowboys, of course)

Eh, not "hair bands". The term stands for bands like Poison or Cinderella, basically not metal bands, just "cheesy rock" bands of the 80s. Actually it is a lame and silly term ("hair metal" that is) but if it is one time silly to categorize bands by lyrics, then doing it because of their hair is 132423423234 times silly. And yes W.A.S.P. are just heavy metal, as some of the bands you mentioned too.
Basically my thoughts about this whole "genre" are simply described by Helstar and the dedication of their "He's a Woman, She's a Man" cover:
"Dedicated to the bands who are all glam and no jam, all hair and no face, image and no substance".

Hair metal is a stupid term, a fine line between metal and hair metal and its a waste of time debating it really. But for the record, the debut albums of Poison and Cinderella each had a couple of absolute crackers on them and to this day, i still get a kick out playing them. Night Songs, Look What the Cat Dragged In are the first two that spring to mind.

My Hair Band collection has mainly been relegated to Greatst Hits CD's. I have collections by:

Poison
Skid Row
Winger
White Lion
Whitesnake (which is actually 3 full albums on 2 CD's)
Cinderella
Dokken

Still have CD's by:

Bon Jovi
Def Leppard
Harem Scarem
Extreme
