80s Synth-pop, Darkwave, etc.

SKINNY PUPPY - not 80s, but they have a crushing, dark atmosphere. industrial but darkwave all the same! check them out, if you havent already.

and here's another band that im sure many who have written on this thread will like: sneaker pimps. check out their "bloodsport"

killer album

Skinny Puppy formed in '82 mate. Ever seen the live DVD with the frontman wandering about on a pair of massive metal stilts? Scary shit.

Most of their fans have pretty much written them of now becuase their music has changed so much. It is a lot easier on the ear but whether or no they've sacrificed their artistic integrity in the name of the almighty dollar is a subject for debate.

84's is their earliest album, unless you're a purist and argue that it was Back and Forth in 83, but less than 50 copies of that were ever made.

If anyone ever finds one of those earliest albums, I know a guy who'd sell a kidney to buy it.

depeche mode, the cure, this empty flow, dead can dance, joy division...all no brainers obviously.

:kickass:

Haven't heard This Empty Flow though, but I already read their name about 4 times today strangely enough, so I should probably see what they are all about...

And since NFU didn't suggest them yet, Wolfsheim, one of the bands I am most greatful for him introducing me to, very inspirational
