It's a Mapex M Birch Kick with a Powerstroke 3 head and a falam slam pad. No resonant head on. I've taken samples with both wood and felt beaters.
Mic's were a Sennhieser E902 and a E602. The lows are the 602 and the highs are the 902 (h/lpf'd at 300hz)
Preamps were Mackie Onyx.
The sample is already quite heavily processed, so it should drop into a mix quite nicely I suspect. Thanks to those who gave feedback and helped me to improve on the frankly awful original samples! I've ended up with something I'm actually quite proud of!

If anyone uses this in a mix please let me know as I'd love to hear what results you guys get from it.

My fave is "Kick Moar Bass_02" I think. Though I've gone and lost the eq settings for that one! Gonna get the spectrum analyser out and see if I can recreate it.

Multisamples and Tci's coming later on tonight!

Now that I give it another listen, yeah your right, that one was probably the best. Too bad you lost the eq settings :(

Righto here's the final samples!

Thanks to all who have commented on the thread and gave feedback. I found that getting this out into public for criticism really helped push me to improve the sound I had. Maybe I'll do some snare samples soon too :)

Nice. Thank's Trevoire, I'll check these out and try them out in a mix.
Snare samples would be sick!

I've actually got samples from 5 different snares waiting to be processed and chopped up. Some toms floating about too I think. Will get round to doing them when I've got some spare time. Might even run them through the Trident board and silverface 1176 at college to get some analogue mojo going on!
