I was just wondering if the band would have a problem with somebody setting up a small trading community for their live shows?

Ideally, I would like to set up a tape tree for Opeth stuff and get together a community of tapers who have the ability to record the shows, we could then offer the recodings up to other people in a tree format and distribute them to whowever requires them.

As an example, Ozric Tentacles have no problem with this and have allowed people to record the shows for the 20 years they have been touring! There is now quite a healthy community in which their shows are traded and the recordings go out to people who have the ability to copy for others and also the people who don't. If anyone would like an example, check out the forum on http://www.ozrics.com There are a few tape tree examples there.

Obviously, with the new album, there will be a tour on the horizon, so it would be quite good if something like this could be set up and I would like to stress that I do not want to make any money from this WHATSOEVER. I do not agree with the selling of bootlegs at all, I'd just like to help the Opeth fans get that little bit more!

If anyone would be interested in helping or being involved with this, please email me (r.castley@btopenworld.com). Anyone in the world is welcome, the more people I can get then the more shows that will be available. :)
