ADA8000 $125? Worth it?

So then I would have to use 2 cables then correct?

Out from the Saffire into the Behringer then out fromt he Behringer into the Saffire. There is no way for the Behringer to connect to the PC as it only has ADAT out. So i need to use the Firewire on the Saffire to get it to the PC.

You should be able to use one cable if you set the Saffire to slave from the ADA8000? Maybe there's something specific about that interface that's different, but with my Profire + Octopre setup, I set the Octopre as the master with the Profire as the slave and they sync up fine, just using one ADAT going from out on the Octopre to in on the Profire.

EDIT: Yeah, so here:

Just set the Sync Source to "ADAT" and it should work fine with only one cable.

Cant find any options to set it to slave Checked user manual the term "slave" doesnt even exist in the documentation

You should. Straight from the manual:

Set the ADA8000 switch on the back one of the Master options (48 or 44.1) and then set the sync source in the Saffire to ADAT, that's it, all done.

I will for sure, Ill be doing some DI shootouts as soon as I get done mixing the 2 projects on my desk.

Plan is to do clean DIs with electric guitar, some vocal tracks and an acoustic guitar, we will see how it turns out.
