A friend of mine would llike to get a good bass amp head to play with his hardcore band. He wants something "as tight yet brutal as possible". He already have a cab (Fender 4x10") and ideally a small amp would be even better.
His budget is 400-500€ and he preferably wants to spend his money at Thomann (sort of credit note or something). Stage use mainly.
At the moment, he has three options: Ampeg, MarkBass and Ashdown (the last two are maybe not powerful enough to play with a band?)
What do you think of these three guys and what would you choose instead?
Edit - he also uses an SVT pedal by Tech21 for color and distortion.
