Aeternus - "Warrior of the Crescent Moon" is 11/10 buy or just kill yourself quality

OK I realize that this is an album for the ages, I truly do, but that one song is just SO FUCKEN amazing.

Not only is the acoustic intro stunning, and the main song of course is phenomenal, but it's EXACTLY at 7:02 minutes when the war drums kick in and the song really takes flight....and then of course it leads into that neo-classical outro.

Everyone just needs to own this album. Overall, 10/10 buy or castrate yourself with a wooden spoon.

I concur. I think they peaked at "Shadows of Old" but the two first albums are epitomes of dark metallish ancient battle + nature worship

Actually, there is not a bad song on this album hence my sky high scoring. The vocals on "When the Crows Shadow Falls" prove that Ares was possibly the best harsh vocalist out there.

I gotta say though, you really need the whole album for the song to take effect in all its glory. That said, it's a masterpiece -- for all you ADD sufferers, make sure you listen to it all the way through to the end.

I dunno, I never really got into AStNB... nearly as much as Wandering Moon. I mean... "Sworn (fucking) Revenge"!!!! I bought that CD from a dead dude about 4 years ago. And I think the original person to reccomend it was... some guy named Markgugs!

Ares' vocals always seemed kinda flat to me for some reason.
