AFI are one of my all time fave bands, sometimes moreso then alot of metal ones. i like the songs and the lyrics the guitar and Daveys Havok's voice. i like the way theyve evolved from a punk roots band to a more punk-gothic (whice come on is a rare as fuck) making them totally unique
i think the art of drowning album really had a metal feel to it, tho not death or old or thrash it had many of the qualities. while sing the sorrow (latest album) had a more gothic inspired theme. i wne to see AFI live in Manchester at the Academy...i hate tyhe place but they played a fking awsome live set despite being stuck up and aloof towards the end
in short AFI kick arse especially for a non-metal band
