Afraid of barbiedolls ?

Here's a mix I came up with when I tried to clear my mind about some other songs .. I wanted it to sound like old soilwork or something, so I made a Soilworkish wannabe-riff:zombie::zombie: The guitars are Podfarm with the XTC model + my marshall impulse - heavily EQed, Superior 2, Directbass Free..

It's a short sample, but how does it sound?

I bought some new monitors today, so maybe I will get better results with my mixes now when my monitors can go lower than 100Hz..

I like it. Nice even mix. Everything sits together fairly well IMO. Drums are a little on the machine-sounding side.

There has to be either a soaring riff or a synth in the mix to help the guitars out. They sound great, they just sound like they've been placed back in the mix to put focus on something else.

Knowing your previous work, you could probably do both. Cheers.

I have only tried to make impulses of my amp once in my life, and this is the result: a shitload of fuzz in the 2.5kHz area Maybe you'll find something useful, but most likely it will sound like shit and you start bleeding from your ears
