Hello my friends :kickass:

Maybe some of you have noticed, that I had to dissolve my band ACT OF RAGE. Like so many others here, I do the right thing and deepen in my work. The first and VERY early result of it is here (many mixes and recording sessions will certainly follow).

One million feed

The MOST IMPORTANT thing for me now...do you like the Singer? I´m also very glad, if you rate my mix/the song and tell me your overall impression. Please be strictly and constructive with the singer! It never was such important for me to hear your honest opinion.

Greetings,

Felix Neumann

I really like the song-vocals are ok, while listening to the instrumental version I had some Steve Tucker (ex-Morbid Angel vocalist) style voice in my head, thought it fitted the song.
Now that's totally different, not my cup of tea-but I like his rougher parts (like from 2:50-3:05).

Thanks, dudes :) I also think, the vocals could have a bit more roughness. I used the TLM103 for the vocals..maybe that´s not the best choice for it. It´s actually too clear after listening to it a couple of times.

I think Angelo (the singer) shows at some moments, that he could sing an awesome Metal performance. I think, we´ll know more after another recording session next week. It was the first real recording session in his life :)

So far I´m hungry for some opinions..I soon will deceide, if I´ll work with him as a singer.

He sound as he can sings but this song is to low key for him. You can hear at the parts where he goes a bit higher that he has a good voice.

But it sounds cool and Nevermore-ish... And that is totally a good thing!

Hey Ola

Thank you very much for your time to listen to it!

Okay he also spoke with me about the tuning. He prefers drop "D". Maybe I should take it into account! I also think, he has really good moments. Looking forward to the next recording session, I´m sure he wants to improve himself, too!

Do it already! What you can try is to lower it even more so he can sing the higher octave. And the song fucking rocks so keep us posted as soon as you've tried some more.

Hey Felix, sounds good dude - still think you should get a bit closer to the dustcap (the center of the speaker) with the SM57 for the guitars, but yeah, still really dig 'em. And yeah, also getting a big-time Warrel Dane vibe from the singer, but I actually like him better than Dane! :D One thing I don't like though is he occasionally doesn't hold the note but rather kinda does a spoken-word sound (specifically the way he sings "the endless past," "the will," "the place" etc. remind me of Bob Dylan :ill:  ) The melody and feel of the vocals really adds well to the song though, which is the highest praise I can give, cuz I already loved the song to begin with!

Oh, and if you want him to be your singer, you might wanna invest in Melodyne/Autotune :D (he's not bad, but there are a few sour notes in there)

Cool stuff! I wouldn't prefer his voice over Dane though... c'mon, Dane's voice is so full of wisdom haha, he sounds like an old storyteller or something... just love that :D

The guitars struck me with their boxiness but I dunno... when everything kicked in, it all made sense. I think something like this would work, good work Felix :)

First of all...It´s fucking great to read this, dudes!! Thank you very much :)

I´m certainly overcritical with my new possible singer..I don´t make the decision easy form me. I worked with him the first time yesterday. The most important question is: Does he have enough potential? I know, it was his first studio session ever and the vibes were pretty easy and cool (even without alcohol..just coffee).

A question for You English speaking guys: Is it not kind of funny for you, when you listen to none english speaking guys singing english vocals? My fear is, does it sound too Deutsch ?? ;)

Oh, and if you want him to be your singer, you might wanna invest in Melodyne/Autotune

Haha Marcus..this would open a complete new chapter in my recording work :) I never worked with it so far. I know, what you mean..his intonation is not the best. Short question..Melodyne or Autotune?

Cool stuff! I wouldn't prefer his voice over Dane though... c'mon, Dane's voice is so full of wisdom haha, he sounds like an old storyteller or something... just love that

Thanks dude :) I´m a great Nevermore and especially Dane fan..I love this feeling and expression in his voice. I would like to kidnap him...maybe some sneapster may tell me his address :D Thanks so much for your words.

I definitively will!! At the latest for the next song, he get his drop "D" tuning. I´ll keep you updated, dudes. Thanks Ola!

Hahaha you don´t give up, Marcus :) I promise for the next song I will move my SM57 a bit! Bob Dylan??? Hahaha I will tell him  Then he surely will sing with more brutality. I exactly know, what you mean with it..and I agree with you..(maybe you found that, what I searched) I knew something is disturbing me..I think this spoken words thing was it! Thanks, dude!

I´m very glad, you dig the song, Marcus
